Great game! Especially for your first. I loved the art and the atmosphere and the camera was pretty cool. It was pretty easy to get lost, but I guess that's the nature of only using two colors. But seriously Nice work man!

A great, retro-style horror game! The visuals are nice and simple, but the sound effects do a great job elevating the experience and the atmosphere. The footsteps, the thunder, the sound of the monster as it wails and walks towards you. The dread of never knowing when the monster will pop up added a lot to the game. I wore headphones and the way the position-based sounds were handled made it feel like the monster was actually walking behind me which only added to the horror!

I did find myself wandering the maze a lot trying to find the roots. I wish there was a way to help the player find the items since all the corridors look so similar. Other than that, nice job! I really enjoyed this. Even though you did get confused on the theme, I thought this was a great first submission.

Thanks for the feedback! You're a legend.

The atmosphere the maze has in these pixelated, 1bit graphics is truly of being lost in an unknown, confusing space! You never know what you'll find in the end of a corridor- which looks more like two white cones than an actual physical place. Well done!

You know the jam theme isn't "Where am I?", but "You Start With Everything And End With Nothing", right? ahah
