Even if it was unfinished, there are interesting things to notice. The speed decreases and we have to choose the good path in order not to be blocked or slowed considerably (like in the long stairs). But level design wise, I think some efforts could have been done to really reward the player taking risks to be sooner at the finish line. There's something to exploit here.

I can't comment on the graphics as they are too basic. Next time you should at least use free assets that you could modify a bit if you want, if art is not your best.Or even better, team up with someone.

I'm sure you'll do better next time. The game development is a long journey that can be very gratifying. :)

Hi, I think it's good that you submitted at the time, but the character can be anything playing with it feels like a demo or like I'm testing a under development version, you could put any online free 2D character, the wall jump effected the normal jump , it's hard to pass the long steps part when it hold me back, one last think is the music you could ask someone to make them for you, music work magic on any thing,  but I work for the jam  too, and I understand the pressure, I read NLT Productions comment and your replay, it's good that you have anything works with a family and a work, good luck in your future projects.

The game is functional, but it lacks whimsy. There's no menu, tutorial, HUD, music, or even a feedback to show that you died because the game just restarts. I know that the pressure to deliver the game within the estimated deadline is great, but the advice I give you is: "if you can't win with talent, win with effort."

I invite you to play my game and give me some feedback as well. ðŸ¥¸

you are correct on all of your statements… all things aside I was not attempting to win anything.

This was just a personal achievement. I knew there was zero chance of this game winning anything, and fell short of everything I wanted it to be, but I did the only thing I set out to do. Which was submit a game within the time limit. Also I work a lot, have 3 kids, and a wife I had about 20 hours of awake time to do anything, and that is before I do chores to keep the household running.

Thank you for your comment. Hopefully next time I will have more time, and experience built up to have something better to show.

The "winning" thing was a metaphor, and I wasn't necessarily talking about winning the competition. In any case, I wish you good luck with your next project.
