It had me hooked for quite a few rewards. Like others I also found it fun and enjoyed that later stages required experimentation e.g. crafting a shovel wasn’t explicitly instructed. I haven’t figured out how to craft a knife yet but I’ll have another play later to see if I can crack it. Cool game, thanks for sharing.
Hi, you need these ingredients for a knife:
"iron+wand+..." and one more ingredient)
Pretty cool idea! I played up until the animals started showing up, but I couldn't figure out how to craft a knife. One small thing I'd recommend is to allow any amount of spaces between the crafting recipes items, like "craft wand + pebble". Not a huge thing, but I think it would make sense.
Also, another small thing I'd recommend is to reset the text after a few seconds when you press enter on the side screen and it says "The conditions are not met". I accidentally pressed enter when I opened the screen, so I didn't get to read the original text. It would be nice if it went back to the original text after a few seconds, or when you press tab again.
I'm not sure if it really follows the "transformation" theme and the 1-bit graphics very strongly, but it's still a pretty cool game, I think it has quite a bit of potential if you keep expanding it! Maybe some upgrades for later in the game, like increasing the field of view, so instead of exposing one tile when moving around, you could expose the 4 adjacent tiles too, or maybe 8 tiles including the corners. Also, things like different biomes with a slightly different look to the ground tiles and unique items could be cool. I think there's many different places you could take this game.
I honestly don’t know what to do at the start
Edit : I figured it out
great idea but it's hard to know what to do and every time i press tap i got a huge wall of text it's a way but it's not a good way to teach the player but overall the game is so unique and creative
Very cool concept. I liked typing out commands as both a retro throwback and as an expression of the need to be precise with my actions.
I do feel like it needs to have more holding it together in terms of context or an extra gameplay element (maybe enemies patrolling who can only be fended off with certain crafted items). The atmosphere was surprisingly good despite the minimalism though!
Very tricky to start with, but I see how it can grow.
Mapping arrow up to "MOVE UP" instead of "LAST" (and arrow down to "MOVE DOWN") makes it just a bit user friendly to beginners, but much less for your target audience (it's quite annoying to type "LAST" knowing the alternatives). And the UI is non-intuitive, there probably is a bug showing a "TOOL" before you ever crafted and equipped it (I only got that after eqiping a pickaxe).
I would recommend you to ditch the normies and completely remove all the UI/controls, or to fully make a normie UI and ditch the console.
Nice game, I really liked the idea, but we should have a 'tab' command (writes the last command), so it would be easier to proceed the game.
Hi. In fact, this is implemented through binds, that is, you can program a specific command to a number key.
For example, if you enter "bind 3 craft_pebble+wand", then pressing key 3 will execute this command.
When write in capslock, dont work
Hi, I fixed it in the new version.
