Clarifying permitted updates

Hi there,

I’m noticing some recurring feedback regarding confusion about some sections of my game and frustration towards friction in part of the problem-solving loop. As there is still 19 days remaining in the jam I wanted to request clarification for permitted updates:

Could unclear instructions in the game or repetitive deaths in a difficult section be considered bug-related from a design perspective? There are 3 “Acts” in my game and a few small tweaks in Act 1 would allow players to play and review the whole game instead of getting stuck at the start.

I’m happy to abide by any limitations we agree to during the period of the jam, thanks for the help!

P.S. If updates within the jam period are limited to technical bugs only then perhaps an alternative of UX update allowed + keep the old version downloadable may be a suitable compromise as I’ve seen some other jams offer that.

Yep, I've the same question. And how is it going to be controlled? I mean, rn everyone can just upload a new version with updates and stuff and nobody'll notice it

I think it's just an honor system. In the rules it seems like you can fix bugs of add different difficulties, which is weird, so just be cool?

As I got it it's not about difficulties, but about different builds(web, windows etc.), but yeah makes sense

I just updated my game making a few quality of life changes without touching the gameplay itself. I think it is fair enough
