Hello, I noticed that you uploaded the wrong file for people to play. Since I also use Game Maker and have a license, I decided to create an executable for people to be able to test your game. I hope this can still be of help (I apologize for the "intrusion", if you don't like it, I can remove it without any issues). Since you mentioned that it's incomplete, I'm not sure exactly what areas to point out for improvement, but the idea is really good and I really liked the lighting system used, the triangular vision looks great, and the artwork is very nice. One thing that could be changed is the sprite for the "E" key, because when we look straight at it, it disappears due to our field of vision being white and the sprite being entirely white, adding a black outline would help a lot.

I have no idea how to open .yyp files. you should export it to binary instead of project files even if your game is unfinished because you can continue working on it after submitting :D.
lol this is my first “game”I have no idea what I’m doing, how do I export to binary?
also regarding being able to keep working on my game after submitting it, the game was very unfinished so I feel like if I started actually finishing it it would break the “don’t radically change your game” rule, but is that still allowed?
it's depend on the tools you're using and I cannot help you with that since I don't know what tools you're using to create the game. And about "don't radically change your game", I think it's only appplied to voting period, so when the voting period ended, you can change the game to whatever you want.
I used gamemaker studio 2
No wonder why, GMS2 require subscription to export to window and other OSs.
damn. Can I still upload it to be playable in browser on itch.io somehow?
that would require subscription too, except exporting it to gx.games according to this.
