Great job with this RTS entry! Other comments have mentioned the unintuitive control scheme etc so I won't, but great atmosphere with this entry - sound design/music is a perfect fit.
Thank you for playing the game, I'm really glad that you enjoyed it!
Really good idea! It was fun/weird to figure out the mechanics and what to do. I think what would elevate the game to the next level would be to update the ui and controls to be more user friendly and easy to use. Because the gameplay is already great and I don't think it needs to change.
Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate your interest for the game! I will also add a tutorial to make it even easier for the user to learn the game.
This isn't super easy, the controls aren't very intuitive? but it's pretty interesting! You did good work ^^
Indeed, the controls aren't as intuitive as I thought they would be, so I'll add a tutorial next update. Glad you still liked the game though!
Nice music. Game screen too big to fit the web page. A guided tutorial would be nice. I don't know what to do, why I can't make factories, buy ships, how to get out of tiled, factory build mode, how to control ships, attack, and where the enemy is, or how to stop an enemy attacking my base. The selection indicator is scaling unevenly. Also from the description too many controls for a small game.
Ok, there are a lot of problems that you are presenting to me, so I'll talk about each one separately.
Game screen
I didn't expect someone to have a lower resolution that the game's resolution. Perhaps going into fullscreen might help. I'll definitely look after this next update.
Tutorial
A tutorial will be added next update as there are many people saying that the game is difficult to understand, requiring me to give them a more detailed explanation of the game.
Buying factories
The game's main resource are coins. These coins can be obtained by clicking on asteroids with miner ships (such as the ones you spawned with at the beginning of the game). Give them time, as one ship takes 5 seconds to farm 2 coins. The asteroids will be eventually destroyed, so keep checking the miner ships. In the build mode, click the Factory and it will prompt you to place it on the map. If you don't have enough coins, you can't place a factory. If this happens, presa right click to get out of tiled mode.
Note: The structure you spawn with at the beginning of the game is a factory.
Buying ships
Buying ships can be done by clicking on a factory. This will bring up a menu similar to the build menu.
Buying ships works similar to buying this, except two things:
-Buying ships doesn't prompt you into tiled mode and instead spawns the ship next to the selected factory
-You can only buy a limited amount of ships per factory. This number can be seen next to the "Available ships" text. You can buy a new ship every 30 seconds, this can be seen under the "Available ships" text. Researching works in the same way.
Controlling ships
To control ships, click and hold, then drag your mouse. This will bring up a rectangle. Every allied ship in the rectangle will be selected upon release. To attack an asteroid/enemy, make sure you have some ships selected, then click on the enemy. Miner ships cannot attack enemy ships, and fighter ships can attack asteroids, but will not receive any coins.
You can have an easier time controlling the ships by grouping them. To do this, select some ships, and press Left CTRL+a number from 1 to 9. After that, pressing a number will select all ships associated with the group that number represent. Pressing again that same number will move your view to those ships.
Note: Associating ships with a group will kick all other ships associated with that same group, unless they are also selected upon association.
Objective
The objective is to destroy the 4 enemy ship spawners that are on the 4 sides of the map. You can view them easier by zooming out and moving your cursor to one side of the screen.
Too many controls
Indeed, there are many controls to be used. Not all controls are essential, but they will help you a lot if used effectively.
Once you start to figure it out it is really cool! Really liked it, can see the awesome potential. Getting some pathfinding on the ships. Probably was hard making the enemies stand apart with the limitations of only 2 colors.
Glad you like the game! Indeed, the ships need some pathfinding added to them. Currently, they go to the center of the map and attack everything in their path. Knowing this, you can easily setup your base and build an army without getting attacked.
It is difficult to understand, you should start with a small tutorial, I managed to play it and it is very good, it has a lot of potential, only one tutorial is missing. great game :)
Thanks for the suggestion! It seems the controls aren't as intuitive as I thought they would be after all.
I really tried, but I didn't really get this game, can you help? It says I start with 4 ships but I only have 2, and how do I make them shoot asteroids and the ship attacking me? Thank you
About the starting ships, that was my bad, I have updated the game recently and forgot to change the game's description. You should start with only 2 ships.
About the controls, click and hold, then drag the mouse. This will cause a rectangle to appear. All of your ships who are in this rectangle will get selected. Attacking asteroids or enemy ships can be done by pressing click on them while having ships selected. In order to farm resources from asteroids, you have to use Miner Ships(such as the 2 ships you spawned with). Ships attacking you can be destroyed with Fighter Ships(or other ships unlockable in the Research Facility). Ships can be spawned with a Factory(such as the structure that spawned along with the Miner Ships). Opening Factories or Research Facilities can be done by simply clicking on them. This will bring up a menu similar to the build menu. Once you are done, you can press E to close the menu.
Okay, thank you, I'll try again
