OH MY GOD I WAS LAUGHING MY ASS OFF AT THIS. Such a hilarious short little game. The art style is so adorable and super comical at times, the dialogue is so witty and doesn't take itself seriously at all which I adore, the characters, despite not spending much time with them, I grew attached to instantly.. there was so much I liked about this! It was pretty dialogue-heavy which meant there wasn't much to do gameplay wise. The enemies were good in the first area to get adjusted to the gameplay, jumping into a short boss battle, and then it ends there. It left me wanting so much more! But for a game jam, that totally makes sense that this was all you were able to cover, but I implore you to continue the project! Overall a super polished package altogether :)
(please tell me did gay mode change anything)

Glad you liked this game! We had more planned for it but being our first game jam, we overestimated how much we could do in a short time :,) . We may do more with this concept in the future. Most importantly, the gay makes the moustache of the playable character rainbow!

Hi! I'm one of the jam organizers. If you're a UNC student please let me know ASAP, because we need to know which games are eligible for prizes!

Thanks!

Gay mode :)

No but seriously this is an impressively visually polished game, I love the visuals all around, from the characters to the world around you it's just absolutely beautiful. This might just be a skill issue or me not understanding  patience gaming but I felt the boss was a bit too difficult since at least from what I could tell you had to time it perfectly to dash in, get a hit, and then dash out(maybe I was just supposed to wait) but luckily I was able to abuse a bug where I could just not consume the marbles for one attempt and then get double marbles the second time to pad my health. Regarding the marbles I think that was a wonderful method of displaying health, they look very pretty and I can see how it could be expanded to collecting marbles throughout the world in the future which would be absolutely amazing. Also the music was a great choice, it definitely fit the vibes I got from the art style so great picks there! One thing I might recommend for future games would be a volume slider rather than just an on/off switch, but since you didn't have much going on sound-wise for this one it was totally fine for me to just decrease my system volume

I love the style of this game! The vibes are immaculate. The gameplay is a bit rough to get the hang of, but it has some cool concepts. Great job for a jam game!
