Threejs for me

Howdy,

I've been meaning to get out of my comfort zone with game engines for a while and try something a little more... code-y? Anyways, I've been eyeing threejs for a while (https://threejs.org/) and would like to make a simple character-action game in it. This is a good excuse for me to bone up on my javascript, as well as to get comfortable working in a "real" JS and web development environment.

Cheers!

Not that anyone was asking, but I am specifically looking to make a game very similar to my pico-8 game Hungry Harry 3D (https://paloblancogames.itch.io/hungry-harry-3d). Threejs offers very easy support for drawing camera-normal 2D sprites in 3D scenes, and I would like to start making games like this. I think it would offer a way to make more indie-style 3D games without the major time investment of making 3D models besides simple level geometries.

Ah, I've seen that on twitter. Very cool style indeed. I've had an appreciation for 2d sprites in 3d worlds ever since I played Strider 2 on PS1.

@Nopy your Tic-80 demo is awesome. Tic80 looks really fun - if time were no object I would love to dive in, but I feel guilty trying to learn more than one virtual console when I still have a poor grasp of "real" environments. Looking forward to seeing what you cook up!
