I like the aesthetic of the levels, but with no real limit on the spawn rate or time of the enemies, it eventually ended up being a battle against my FPS.
Would highly suggest holding off the next wave spawning until the current enemies are killed.
I'm glad people are digging the Minotaur graphics / animations :) I probably spent far too much time on them! I am putting together a post jam patch with some basic improvements including player animations, and possibly a subsequent patch to expand the game play a little.
Quite enjoyable wave shooter. While you admitted to not having the time, this definitely could have done with a little audio… even if only a single music track.
Regardless, I thought the enemy AI was pretty good (save one fellow who ended up stuck in the level geometry and who I was unable to rescue by releasing him from his moral coil).
All in all, very nice game!
I ended up playing this on a stream the other day. If you are interested, you can watch me play it here :)
Thanks for streaming this! Its always great to watch someone who isn't me playing my games! Best way to see potential improvements :)
I am planning to expand this with a few power ups and maybe 1 or 2 extra enemy types and weapon types. Music and sound effects will definitely be coming too.
Thanks again for the feedback :) Great to see another Godot + Linux fan!
I like the retro look of the minotaur models and the environment. A few simple sounds would go a long way towards improving feedback and telegraphing. I'd also make the courts bigger, so those minotaurs have more space to charge at you. That would also work well with faster player movement. Other than that, well done!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback. I will definitely be adding some sounds! I always leave it to the last minute and am always surprised how much some simple music / sound effects can improve even a simple game! Level improvements are on the list too. Not sure if anyone found them but there are some unfinished platforms over the lava you can jump to when the lava hasn't risen. Glad you liked the models :) I spent way to much of the jam time on them and the animations haha!
Haha yup, I actually almost named it "get mauled by a Minotaur simulator" for this very reason! I agree, some kind of pre-charge animation would be great. Thanks for playing and for the feedback :)

Yep you are not wrong! They just keep coming until you or your computer dies...
I have released an update with your feedback in mind :)
Thanks for playing
Cool look (enemy animations especially!), though the player attacks aren’t at the same level yet. I hope you keep iterating.

Sounds great! I'm also very happy to see Godot based entries in this jam.
Needs a score at the Game Over screen!
Absolutely! This is on my quick wins list for post jam improvements :) Thanks for playing
Dang those boys charge in fast! Might be good to have more telegraphing cos it made it hard to dodge. Nice art style!
