This seems like a cool game, but wow there is a lot going on! I was pretty overwhelmed to be honest. I managed to get the basics down at least and fought through a few enemy encounters while using attacks more-or-less at random. It certainly seems like an impressive amount of work has gone in here. The graphics are nicely detailed, and the music is really good.
Unfortunately, the game seemed to lock up on me during a battle. I could still hover over stuff with the mouse, but it didn't switch back to my characters for their turn. I tried clicking on things and pressing keys but nothing progressed.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, I have a lot of time in the d20 system the game uses but during the jam I ended up with no time for documentation or onboarding. I need to figure something out about that.
Could you tell me which build you were playing? Version number or current, just after 7drl, or 7drl build zip name. I want to track this bug down. Did the music keep playing? Was the hotbar visible?
I was playing the current version. Yes, the music was playing. I can't totally remember about the the hotbar, but I don't think it was visible.
Thanks for the details. I think that's the bug I've been having with my task system getting stuck on tweens that's been hard to track down. I'm gonna turn off fades on anything critical on the next build just to make sure till I have it fixed.
The third game with a party mechanic I've tried in the entries. I still like Dungeon Team the best. I only tried the fixed 7drl build. You have the team following which is nice. I disliked the inability to start a combat. I sometimes got pretty close before combat started. The game feels more like an old SSI game than a roguelike. That's not a bad thing except that this is a roguelike contest. In combat I found if I moved without clicking on move, it would end the character's turn when I reached there max distance and sometimes I'd move the next character by accident. It did hang on me when I tried to go to the next level.
Thanks for playing! You could actually start combat by clicking on a visible enemy but I realize that wasn't very clear so I've added an icon change and some text to make that clearer. There was a bug with movement that was triggering some npc code but I fixed that too. Not sure about the level change but it hasn't happened to me in the current version. Thanks again for playing and reporting these bugs!
