I liked the art assets, you do a great job of presenting a very cold, scary, rapidly changing climate. With the lonely houses and such. I also love the piano, and I think it was an extremely interesting decision to make the piano a spatial sound with the source being the fountain.
I like the dialogue but a little clarity about objectives and plot would have been nice. For example I have no idea why the doors close on that first house. I'm also unsure about old man Wells interaction on the southeast house.
Overall I really like the plot, with the caveat that I think the anti-climax at the end is kind of counter to the dire rapidly changing environments, the desolate feel, the anxieties of the characters and their desperation to preserve the resources necessary for life. I think something a little more bittersweet might have felt more impactful and salient considering we all are experiencing similar anxieties in our world - with no attempts at solutions in sight. I also think it might be more suited with the loop mechanic.
I think its a thoughtful work, great release.
thank you so much for this thoughtful review and for playing to the end.
Piano sound fits very nice, good climat.
The music and ambience felt good. I think one thing you could improve would be keeping a consistent pixel size for the artwork. For example the characters had more fine detail while the environment had bigger blocky pixels.
good catch!
An effective mood piece, I like the little guys.
Nice little game! Sound design and the atmosphere are really good. But there is so little time given, I had to lose several times before I get what I need to do.
That's intended; it's a time loop game! Thanks for playing!
Great ambiance by the snowy weather, lantern lighting, and music. Not sure about the guidance on the progression though. There are lots of nouns floating around in dialogues but I couldn't quite figure what what they refer to. The red keywords in dialogue also tend to overlap with the red brick road, making it hard to read.
I liked the snow falling down and the darkness ascending upon the town later.
But I felt lost while playing it. Lots of open space
