The art and music is really, really good! I was surprised there were cutscenes as they were really cute! The hitboxes of the ground and enemies ain't quite so established, I had some trouble moving around in the beginning, going to the left is not an option lol. Not sure if this is intentional or not but the rocket is a bit weird, I need to spam the space bar for the character to actually get somewhere, which I guess adds to the intensity of the gameplay haha. I reckon if there was a bit more time it would've be a bit more polished.

Overall, it's a really nice cute game. Good job to all!

Lovely art style and very cool music, especially the endgame one! I would've loved some more levels, but hey, this is a jam game - short and sweet :)

Developer

Thank you for your comment, as I composed the endgame's music it goes straight to my heart :)))

The Itch Launcher was giving me problems at first but I was able to download it the regular way. It felt like you were experimenting with some cool ideas. Pretty cool concept and great cut scenes! Here's a link to my playthrough https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1180728448?t=01h25m20

Thanks a lot for your feedback! And for the playthrough as well, was really cool to see you experimenting the game first-hand ^^ We plan on releasing a properly finished version of the game, hopefully you'll give it a shot then as well :D

I will absolutely play the updated version! Glad you enjoyed the stream!

Impressive animation and great visuals! I wasn't too keen on the physics though.

An actual opening sequence with animations, wow nice! I wasn't expecting this.

I really like the visuals and animations, these look great! Gameplay wise, it is a bit lacking feedback when taking damage or dealing damage, and I had to spam the space bar to perfom a decent jump :p

I I think I cheesed the shrimp boss by attacking it from behind haha! Again, as I was shooting it there was no feedback it was taking damage, which made me think it was useless to try to fight it. But in the end, it eventually died (with a nice animation!).

Ending sequence: also cool! It was impressive to see all these animations and graphics made in such short time. Good job!

I really loved the visuals and opening sequence, it was super pretty!
Gameplay wise it was really difficult, I couldn't get past the shrimp boss. The lasers felt impossible to avoid and jumping felt weird. The blindness was confusing as well
I can't get over that whole intro though, wonderful

Demon Souls lvl of difficulty ?

The intro sequence was well done, though I didn't notice any musical change between the scenes until the sudden change at the keypad entry part.

Shrimp level was probably a bit too brutal, those lasers! I'm not sure what I did to beat it, maybe just lucky in avoiding the lasers. I didn't feel like there was a noticeable use of adaptive music on this stage.

I liked the vertical cloud level and this is where the adaptive music really comes in, with the layering of the parts as I ascended. It was a nice progression. I think fading in the parts would work to smooth it out a bit as I noticed some rough edges but overall very nice!

Also I really dig the hand drawn art style, it lends a lot of great character!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play the game and rate it! We actually encountered a last minute problem with FMOD implementation and had to give up on most adaptive aspects of the music we had worked on, which explains the issues you noticed. We plan on releasing an updated version of the game including the adaptive aspects we meant to implement.

This is really really hard ! I can't beat the giant shrimp and it's literally 1 minute after the game begins lol I will try again later

I really love the art style. Quite unique and charming. I also love the cut scene at the start with the story being unfolded to us. The use of music is good imo too!

A few things I noticed:

  • I find it really hard to shoot with the mouse + jump with space +move with ASWD, I don't know if it's just me, but it was really ackward to do all 3 at the same time. I would have prefer the shot mapped to a keyboard key.
  • The speed of the shrimp projectile is very fast. I can't react in time because our character is a bit slow. I took damage all the time despite trying to dodge
  • Not sure about the blindfold right in front of the boss, it feels cheap!
  • The curve platform stops the momentum of the character and I don't know if that's the intended way, but I was moving by tapping jump (using my jetpack to float around) instead of walking.
  • It's a bit too hard for me. I don't know how much of the game you guys developed, but it's a shame if we can't see the rest because the beginning is too hard. I made that mistake in my last game jam!

I don't want to sound too hard on my feedbacks, actually, I'm quite impressed by what I'm seeing for a 10-day game jam. Good job on your submission!
I hope those feedbacks will help you :)
