Had access to the Ch 1 'Tracks in the snow' demo, via Steam: thank you.
Cute concept and I like the simple artwork very much. I also like the more inclusive (though wholly inclusive would be difficult) sibling pair and that Bo looks trans/gender fluid (is that intentional?). I like the anime look of the characters, which seems unusual in a US-produced (I assume from the truck number plate) game.
I agree with other commentators that possible interactions with objects are basic, but I wouldn't mind this in future chapters provided that the mysteries are interesting and (as implied by the preview list) more challenging.
Enjoyed it as a British older adult who plays mostly mouse + keyboard indie 'casual', 'adventure', 'narrative/story-rich' and 'puzzle' games - and franchise HOGs when I'm tired - and I can think of under-10s who'd like it too. I might get bored if future chapters remain easy for me.
I noticed a few typos:
One of the Insight cards says "Foresincs showed" instead of "Forensics showed"
Near the end, Bo says "Dad, I'm right, don't I?" instead of, for example, "Dad, I'm right, aren't I?".
I'm looking forward to the release of the full version.
I'm glad you liked it! Worry not, later cases are indeed more challenging. I'm obviously biased, but I'm pretty happy with how they're coming up.
Oh, and I really appreciate the corrections! Man, I've been looking at that 'Foresincs' card for a whole year and didn't even notice. Embarrassing. I've been using spellcheckers too, but that must've slipped through the cracks, I guess. I'll probably get a proper editor to review the whole thing at the end of the development cycle, because English is not my first language, so I imagine there're many lines that sound kind of sketchy.
Thanks again, I hope I can deliver something fun and solid in the end!!
that's a link to the whole DD51 folder. It's going to be up until DD52. I am happy I did not spoil myself with streams before given how short the demo was.
Still really like this. Not sure if I already wrote this during one of the previous DDs but I love how it shows slight context for the answer when you hover over it on the diorama. Like when you select [spoiler] the footprints in the first case for "where did the culprit walk" and it says on the footprints. The most frustrating thing with Phoenix Wright games and other games of that genre is when you click on something thinking "it's this clue because of X" and the game tells you, "you selected this clue because of Y? Well that's wrong". I think giving this small context on why the part of the diorama was selected adds a lot to remove that frustration, that's pretty neat.
Art looks super good as well, I think, both models and character sprites. Shaping up to be a great comfy detective game.
Given that this demo is for a mongolian basket weaving forum full of angry hermit crabs who all hate each other, locking content behind a Steam wishlist is such a weak move, I can't even call it sleazy. It just makes me embarrassed on your behalf.
genuinely interested in seeing the other puzzles tho
Bro what kind of idiot would release a free version online of something they intend to sell? Also, remember that itchio has its own traffic too, so the demo build isn't really closed.
I'll hand out keys on launch, I'm not that ungrateful, don't worry about it.
What I'm referring to is the part where I try to click on any puzzle other than the first, and there are chains drawn on it and a button saying "Wishlist the game [Steam logo]."
Or... hold up. It looks like the content will be unlocked if I wishlist your game on Steam. Is that not what you're saying? Am I misinterpreting this?
It's just a way of saying the full game will be on Steam, the levels aren't even finished yet. I don't even know how you would check that the player wishlisted on steam from inside the game.

You're the goat, thanks bro.
>No new cases
Oh well, have a Columbo
Heh, thanks.

Thanks man!

Well, in that case, I rescind my original comment. Keep up the good work.
No new cases, just uploading it for people who haven't played it.
New build has these changes with respect to last DD:
Also, there's a steam page now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2468670
