-Fishing is alright. But why is it random if a fish bites? And fishing a bottom fish is impossible.

-I wish it would give me a restart prompt instead of always menu or quit, on fail.

-Window goes crazy if fullscreen and either alt tab or click to another monitor. When I set it to windowed it isn't centered so the window bar is above the extents of the screen and becomes unuasable.

-Rhythm game shouldn't hurt you for pressing keys while there is no notes. Many don't even punish spamming, but if you do, only do it when really close to a note. Also WASD is aids for this gameplay.

-Shooting Galery, Tower Defense: barely a game

-Letter editing: mildly interesting

-Shmup: nice fairies

-JRPG: Needs something to make me not just spam the first action of each character.

-JRPG II: Was only hard to understand since I had to scroll horizontally instead of pressing up to target the skull with my healer.

- You're right, looks like the bottom fish might be bugged. Thank you for pointing that out.

- Definitely a good idea, I'll add this.

- I noticed that too, but it was sort of a lower priority for me. I'll take another look at it.

- I've been thinking about switching from WASD to ASJK, which is what Clone Hero uses. But in Clone Hero, the notes move vertically, not horizontally. I'll have to think about this some more.

- I have some more ideas for both of these game modes, but for this demo I wanted to get as many "basic" levels as possible made before making any more complex levels. In the future, these modes will be much more "involved".

- Thanks! I wasn't sure if anyone would like this one or not.

- I've never been complimented on my 10 second placeholder art before, lmao thanks.

- Each enemy has certain attacks they're weak to. The evil tree is weak to Fireball and Axe (because trees burn and are chopped down with axes). Those attacks will do much more damage than the other attacks.

- I hadn't thought about that, but yeah I guess you're right. I'll see if I can add in vertical scrolling as well as horizontal scrolling.

Thank you for the feedback!

Some of the puzzles were fun. I like shooting galley, only unfortunate that missing a shot basically gives -2 points (as you will be 1 arrow short, as well as not having hit 1). Spell checking game was meh, maybe cause I'm retard ESL. But the font didn't help. Was cute to figure out the tower defense game is just a puzzle, not a real tower defense. Could not manage to catch a fish - I think (?). Instructions tell both to "hold" and to "mash" LMB, but neither did me any good.

Don't really not where you want to go with this game - is it going to be same as Fishlike? - but def seems there is potential for some fun. For using just plain SDL, you're doing well.

Developer

My apologies, I totally just realized I made a mistake in the instructions for the fishing minigame. You're supposed to use A and D to move the hook, not the arrow keys. When a fish bites the hook, mash the left mouse button, while holding down either A or D (whichever one is opposite the direction that the fish is moving). Each time you click LMB, the fish will move ever so slightly closer to the top of the screen, and once it's out of the water, you will have won the level.

The idea for this game is to have around 10-15 different game modes (I've got a few more planned besides the ones already in the game), each with a whole bunch of levels.

Thank you for playing!

in all honesty, i don't think you should add so many different minigames and half ass all of them.

you should polish each one a bit more before moving on to the next

i understand using temporary assets, but right now they are really not that fun to play

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep working on it.

Honestly, surprisingly fun considering the presentation. It's hard to give feedback since this is obviously a very early version, but I'll try.

  • Wizard dance is very cute, but way too hard. WAY too hard.
  • Shooting gallery is nice, sfx would go a long way of course. Intro text made me laff.
  • The letter editing... honestly, I really liked it. I think it's an interesting puzzle, and it's not one that I've ever seen before.  Well done, although the timer seems a bit too short
  • I know it's WIP, but the font on the main menu is REALLY bad, I just have to say.
Developer

Thank you for playing! I was worried about the Letter Editing mode; I wasn't sure if anyone would like it or not.

Can I ask what you found difficult about the Wizard Dance mode? Are there too many notes, or do they move too fast, or what?

"Are there too many notes, or do they move too fast, or what?" Both! Also it should start out easier, so you can get the timing down before it goes ham.
