Imo idle games live and die by how complex/interesting the upgrades are, right now they seem just extremely default but I also haven't played that far. The space station idea is good, maybe you can even do some custom build style where you can attach rooms to each other, maybe get adjacancy bonuses etc. Idk. You could also juice things up a little with some animations on the ship, some wiggling or tweening or anything really.
i don't play many of these types of games but i thought this was pretty cool
I feel like it would be more satisfying if instead of a ship you're a space station and the upgrades have some visual effect, also the background was starting to me with my eyes a little
Thanks for playing and leaving feedback! Are the particles that fly from right to left annoying? Im still thinking about how to go forward since this was just a prototype. The itch upload screws with the page layout, so your screenshot is a result of that and not the intended experience. The station idea seems to be common feedback, so i might pursue that. Not sure about visual upgrades, that depends on how the station would look etc. i guess.
i'm not a big fan of idle games, but it does the job. the png in the middle feels very static, it doesn't feel like a spaceship moving at lightspeed. maybe you should give it some shake, some dynamism.
-I feel like in other idle games your auto-click becomes usable much faster. It took me 5 minutes to get there here.
-settings/shop UI is broken if you go full screen and then out again
-Is the rocket symbol supposed to shoot? It doesn't seem to work
-The spaceship is moving to the right according to the background, kinda like a shmup, but enemies come from all directions. I wish it was more consistent. If they are surrounding you, perhaps it's a planetary defense situation.
-The buttons and font are pleasant but the pixel art art for rockets/guns is way too low res for how the rest of the game looks.
Thanks for the feedback! This was just a quickly made prototype, so balance is off and its missing quite a bit of content and upgrades that would make sense for a clicker game. Also the sprites were just quickly downloaded and put in to have something thats not programmer art. There are quite a few situations that seem to break the UI. I was able to fix a few, but uploading it to itch creates another scenario thats hard to control. Will see if i can avoid it altogether somehow.
The rocket symbol is just a button for the mobile view (less than 1024px wide). The footer buttons are just a menu so you can access everything when using a phone.
The planet idea was my first idea too, but i thought it might be weird to move from level to level with a planet. In my mind it was more satisfying to have loads of explosions all around your ship, but we will see. This can easily be changed at some point.
