After playing free Frostpunk from Epic Store it is awesome to try another great city builder ;p
They seem to walk through the buildings, which is my only gripe. It has potential, with more jobs and speed up button, save load, all the usual jazz. Perhaps aim for some comedy, without overdoing it. Blobs dont have hands so they're bound to have interesting farming and woodcutting methods and animations. Perhaps headbutting for trees and jumping up and down for mining. I like the blob models.
Charming game. It was very relaxing to just sit and watch our little Georges get to work and expand the territory.
I didn't understand well what was the upgrade for some building :/
It would have been nice to be able to see how much materials needed to get a new house (maybe I just didn't see it...)
After a quick gameplay of 20 minutes it's a nice hamlet development sim. It has quite a bit of charm to it.
I'd would have loved to see a speed selector or a way to speed the game up a bit. I was a bit surprised to see the blobs selecting more or less a random target for harvesting wood or stone.
I don't know if you plan to keep working at that game after the jam but there is potential if you push a bit on the breaking the rules gimmick (like changing building or game rules)
Yeah the blobs selecting random nodes isn't something we were happy with. We've definitely learnt where in the AI and game development we should focus on next time. Thanks for the feedback!
Glad you found it charming! Our wonderful composer helped add that a lot!
This is really charming :)
My only complaint is my basic request for all simulation type games. A speed up button :)
Especially in a jam where people have less attention span, it becomes more important. I wanted to see what they will do 30 mins after; but can't have that experience since their movement is quite slow.
Great job nonetheless!
Yeah! That was something we were going to implement if we had a little more time and experience. Thanks for the feedback, it's super useful to hear what people want from a game like this
Fun little simulation :) Nice work!
Thank you!
