It is fun but challegning and quit similar to our game, check it out ;p
Was difficult to fing the color changing fish, I think I got one, maybe. GG!!!
Had a bit of trouble getting the hang of the game, but eventually got there. Neat concept! I might be biased though, because I just like fish. xD
Some great use of shaders hear. Did you use shader graph for this?
Yes, in a couple places.. the water caustics on the columns, and the fish textures, which are pretty standard texture only but with a fresnel effect that I turn on when in highlight mode.
I'm actually in the process of redoing the fish shader to incorporate vertex animation so as to get away from the stiffer looking fish animation which uses bones.
The light rays are just transparent cylinders with some code to animate UVs.
I like the underwater graphics and sound effects. I wish it was a bigger game
Thanks!, glad you like the graphics.. trying to learn some new things with DOTS as I'd like to have the background be more lively.. thinking thousands of fish would be cool!
This is nice. Are these fish boids? One thing you could consider is giving the chameleon-fishes different start positions on their color change animations, so they don't always look the same. I enjoyed your game :)
Believe they are... implemented this game by using a lot of the stuff learned from a Unity Learn session. I did try to offset the shader on the chameleon fish, but may need to modify my random routine..
UI is tiny compared to the rest of the screen, could barely read the instructions. Not sure how this relates to 'Breaking the Rules' though.
Agreed on UI.. at the moment for jam, just a quick and dirty display to keep track. I do plan to retrofit with some cooler (and dynamic scaling) font on trying to take this further.
I love the graphics!! Really fun trying to find them all (very difficult to get them all in time -but a fun challenge!) Good AI too!! Awesome work!!!
Thanks!, yes I plan to take a closer look at tuning difficulty. I'd really like to try to implement this as a DOTS solution so in the distant background I can have groups of hundreds of fish swimming around for scenic purposes only.
I have a lot of fun with my nephew playing it, great game :D
