The Visuals! WHAT?!

Developer (1 edit)

Ooof! There's a pretty major bug in the point system. I uploaded a new version that fixes these issues.
I guess that's what I get for working on gameplay last minute

Here's the source code if you  wanna have a gander (messy!)

This looks fantastic! I had to put the quality to lowest to have it run smootly, though.
Basic gameplay yet quite a bit of fun!

Visually very impressive - although my PC is rubbish so I could only play comfortably on the lower quality. I'm always impressed by what you can do with 3D in GameMaker Xor!

The game play leaves a lot to be desired though. It's quite buggy - after each run through I have to close the game and re-open it because it stops counting when I go through the rings. And the font does not get reset between playing the game and going back to the instructions screen so the instructions are suddenly a lot bigger :P

Ooop! Fixed

Looks gorgeous! - As others have mentioned, I sometimes couldn't get to a ring, and other times the asteroid was smack in the middle of one? (I *could* still get through the latter, but my perception of my 'in-game size' seems to say I shouldn't be able to fit through, so it might confuse players)

Mouse control seems a bit too fast, but maybe that's just my Windows mouse speed settings - but a lovely, smooth moving game! - very impressive!

By the way, the ring issue has been fixed   (small fixes are allowed)

Excellent! - I'll give it another go tonight!  :)

Interesting concept. Nice visuals. I think controlling with a mouse is a little bit boring - a spaceship would've been cool! Also as others have said there's some bugs like sometimes the rings being too close to edges where the mouse doesn't reach.

By the way, this has since been fixed   right after you tested (small fixes are allowed)

You added the spaceship?!?!

Developer (1 edit)

Nope! I just fixed the rings bug.

Maybe I'll make a V2 with a spaceship!

I was just kidding anyway. ;)

It has some bugs to be ironed out, but very visually pleasing and fun to play, without the bugs i think it would be a very solid game! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1064088228 @01:38:13

The visuals are insane. I seriously can't believe this is GMS2. I think there's a bug with the rings or the mouse controls. Some of the rings spawn on the bottom and I can't go through them because it won't let me go down that far.

Looks really cool! After one game over, it wont register any points for flying through rings. I have to exit out and start over to be able to get points again. Collisions with the asteroids or whatever seem to work fine, though.

Cool, glad to hear it. It would be really neat to see this get developed out a little further into maybe like a StarFox style rail shooter or something.

Developer(+1)

I'm very tempted to make a V2! We'll see if time will allow me to

The glowing singularity thingy that shows up at crossroads is a bit confusing, since for the most part you’re supposed to move towards the glowing things, while the singularity thingy hurts you.

Otherwise, good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I thought of this as well. The main issue was that the solid objects were a lot harder to model and I needed something in a pinch. Not ideal

Submitted(+2)

Expected nothing less than the Shader God himself. Great execution Xor!
