What are your ideas?

Let’s talk about your ideas for your Aspire games! What kinds of decks and dice are you thinking about using? Do you have an idea for your game’s flavor yet or are you waiting for inspiration to strike?

I haven't decided what deck I'm using yet, but I've decided that the flavor is going to be 2 songwriters/performers who used to collaborate in some way (in the same band or otherwise) and then had a breakup and went on to do solo stuff. Now they're back for a reunion tour and the setting is an interview promoting the tour.

Initially, the game gives prompts from the interviewer to the artists about their past, but then the at the Turning Point, we start digging into the breakup. I'm also imagining a sort of ending epilogue in which we peek into why they got back together, how the reunion is going, and if it's got staying power (perhaps determined in part or in whole by the rolls of the game).

I like the possibility to make the game customizeable, with a balance between more specific and more general prompts, and the possibility to play solo as well as with others!

I see a LOT of fun potential with this system, but I really struggled to come up with a concrete game idea until last week.  It all started with a silly play on words, but I think I found a fun, immersive way to incorporate a fiction series I really like with this system.

I've just barely submitted the game (aSCPire), and I'm very happy with the results. I'm especially proud of how I could tie all of the multiple endings together in a way that could allow them all to coexist.

Thanks for making this jam! I'm glad I was able to at least pull something together in time.
