Love the premise, nice twist on guessing games. Graphically impressive for a game jam. Most of all, love the voice acting.
Loved the bean people, very funny way to get around time-consuming asset creation in a game jam. The only criticism, and really it's just for the sake of making a criticism, would have liked some more customer dialogue as it got repetitive pretty quickly.
Great entry, well done!
it was pretty nice, I would've liked if the ledger was a little more readable, and a bit more chaos in the interactions. The phone's audio was already addressed in another comment, so I'll just say the having actual voice lines was a really good touch
100% agree, I really should have added close captions for the audio, and at least a zoom on the models.
I'd scrapped an idea to have docket/receipts, but it would have been much clearer what was going on rather than the ledger idea...
Thanks for playing, really appreciate it!
Very unique concept, i did enjoy haggling those beans down to their last pennies.
A bit repetitive, would like to have seen a but more interaction.
Other than that, great game.
Really good use of the theme. The phone messages were probably my favorite part, they were really well done haha
Very interesting concept. The first customer gave me a genuine jump scare you horrible person.
The art is very and the concept is great. Some subtitles on the messages would be great, could tell why the guys was saying at all.
All in all, very good game.
Good job!
Thanks heaps for playing, and even more so for doing so on stream!
I've heard so many folks say the first customer is a jump scare, but I swear that's not intentional, just my natural bad game design skills, haha!
Subtitles were unfortunately left on the cutting room floor due to lack of time, but your right that the accent is pretty thick, on top of the phone effect, so I should have prioritised it higher for sure.
davo mate you’ll never belive what i saw, i saw tik tok in one of the fakes
I enjoyed it!The first customer scared the shit out of me. I think the game could use some cozy background music other than that it s very nice.
That happened to me too the first time the customer came in! XD. I agree on on some cozy music. if only his musical friend could have pulled that off properly in time. <. < > . > 0.0
Every now and then will get an error "RuntimeError: memory access out of bounds." Other than that the game is fun! I like the realistic voice messages. I think the implementation of the theme is really good. It's a more realistic way to implement it.
Everything was pitch black except the red outlines of objects, not sure if that was intended. Other than that interesting concept and cool game.
This review is edited because the creator commented with the version compiled. Normally I could hesitate to change me review if they weren't able to submit it by the deadline, but the version submitted is still technically playable, just without visuals. Anyways, The paintings were funny and the dialog was pretty responsive. Just when I thought the game was pretty much over I revived a scam call which was pretty funny. The take on the theme was rather creative and let to a fun game. Some of the fake paintings seemed like they had real effort put into them (to make them seem fake). The only small complaints I have is that I encountered a uncommon bug where a painting would change to a completely different painting when I bought it, and the fov was a little too low. It was a fun game.
Ah crap, looks like I built the game using the new unity 6 WebGPU render stack, and it appears that Firefox has not rolled support for this out fully, and so the game appears mostly black.
I know it's a lot to ask, but would you care to try it in Chrome (or other similar WebKit browser)?
Otherwise I've re-built it with the WebGL 2 .0 option instead: https://schme16.itch.io/davos-discount-gallery-firefox
If I could update the game I'd just rebuild it in the standard render stack, but the game is of course locked for judging.
I checked out the correct version and I am updating my review accordingly! Thanks for reaching out!
Thank you for giving it another shot, I really appreciate it!
