How does your game represent Mode?
Your ship in Hellfactory CROSS can toggle 3 different Modes between HEAVEN MODE and HELL MODE. The ship's movement, gun, and active layer can all be toggled this way. Mastery of these modes is key to success.

Super cool with all of the different ways you can change your plane to make it work. Love all of the enemies that shoot at you and switching the version to make them go and the other ones show up.
I feel like the normal enemies have a bit to much HP. I ended up just ignoring them.
I liked the music! Love me a bullet hell
I really liked the enemy and spaceship sprites; however, the backgrounds seem a bit cluttered and somewhat contrast with the overall aesthetic. The UI is quite intriguing as well! The gameplay could benefit from a bit more refinement in terms of the satisfaction of defeating enemies. I don't feel that my bullets have the desired impact, especially since there is no sound accompanying them, which often contributes significantly to the joy of playing shoot 'em ups. I understand that this is a game jam, though. Congratulations on the effort and the game; it shows potential!
I love the artstyle and the UI design. There are also a lot of mode to juggle and play with. Boss was really cool too.
Some critique coming from a bullet hell shmup perspective: Some of the enemy projectiles and enemies themselves are too small to recognize quickly and same goes for player projectiles too that caused it to feel really weak. Another is very subjective and depends on the game design but usually the hitboxes of the player and enemy bullets in shmups are actually way smaller than the sprite itself, allowing for more bullets and more complex patterns to fill the screen without being too unfair (you can search up Touhou hitboxes to see more about it).
Really cool game! I was able to beat it with some schmup experience. I really like the music and art. The levels seems to be a bit too cluttered and I think 3 different mode switches is a bit overkill. Maybe tying all the modes into one switch and giving the enemies and obstacles more space would make this just right.
Amazing presentation! The art and audio is extremely impressive for how short the jam was! The game play is also quite good. The ship movement felt fluid, and the varying modes were interesting to switch between. Unfortunately I realized I could skip through all the main enemies, so I didn't feel very motivated to fight them. The final boss though was really cool! I gave it 3 or 4 attempts, but without a health bar it was difficult to tell how much progress I had made. There were also a few bugs, like the game's UI gets misaligned on my larger monitor, and it seems like the player gets frozen when the second phase of the boss starts, which I had to mash a bunch of buttons to get out of. I would also have liked more feedback from shooting the bullets, since there was little to no sound effect , and enemies were sometimes difficult to differentiate from the background and bullets. Again though, the game is such a treat to treat to see and hear that it was still overall a fun experience.
