I like the different weapons you use to kill enemies. Things to add a easy mode, a hyper mode like double speed of gameplay, more HP, and a hard mode with more enemies on screen at once.

I wish I had found the music settings earlier, I really enjoyed listening to it while I played! This was fun, and I liked the sprites for the different enemies. My only critique might be that the guns didn't feel balanced, even against the elementally appropriate enemies. Like I would continue to use the water attack even when the grass charge attack had advantage just because I prefered the rapid-fire. Still, great job!

There are some changes I want to implement to make the charge shot and switching weapons more viable. Thanks for playing!

That was really fun!  I didn't see the how to play button the first time around somehow, but I managed to figure out the controls anyway after a few attempts.  It was a good touch that the different elements for the player's attacks were not just color swap, but also changed how the attacks worked.  Gave each 'mode' a distinct feel.

Fun mechanic for an arena shooter, though I struggled a bit with the charge gun and the one shot kills. Great work!

The one-shot made this game quite hard, but I appreciate a good challenge. I like the way you turned the common "mode-switching" idea from this jam into something unique by using the element system. It was also a nice touch to give the different player modes different attack methods. Overall quite fun and I could see it becoming even better if you decide to update it over time.

Thanks for the feedback! I have a lot of ideas for content and QOL but we'll see if I ever get the chance to get back to it.

It's great

Nice game! I made it to wave 14. I find it hard to utilize the mode switching because the enemies have fast moving projectiles and switching is somewhat slow. The music and sprites are great!

Thanks for the feedback. I just realized I forgot to say in the tutorial that tapping the spacebar twice quickly will switch to the element after the next one. I do agree with you that it’s a bit too slow though.

Developer

thanks, I did all the music and art

I like the theme usage in the wave shooter "modes" ;)

Where is the audio?! Over all it could feel much fuller, but the mechanics and variety in AI and weapons are there. Fun game! GJ team!

Developer

Thanks for the review! Is there no audio for you? If so you can adjust the audio in the pause menu with the sliders.

Download file contains a folder named "BigModeGameJam_BurstDebugInformation_DoNotShip".

oopsies lol, its a debug folder unity automatically generates apparently, I don't really care if people can access debug information if they want so I won't bother mods about it. Hope you enjoy the game though.
