its funny how you made the theme great game
Probably my favourite take on the Theme. It's so literal but so clever! Also love the art style and colour pallette. Plus it's a satisfying and fun shmup to boot.
I will say that everything is way too tiny in the default window, but that full screen button fixed everything.
I think there was a bug at the end because after the third boss More just flew to the top of the screen and nothing happened, no transition to the next level, or an end screen or going back to land, not sure what was supposed to happen but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that. Pretty forgivable though, considering how incredibly polished everything else about this game felt. I really REALLY liked this.
Nice take on the theme, and really enjoyed how coherent and bright all the design work was!
I'd pad out the sound a little more to give it a stronger atmosphere; the street for example would be great with a light-hearted song which then turns into something more action-heavy when you go to fight the invaders.
It also could be cool to have the narrative setup have within the game - say you walk around the town and meet people who give you the information from those screens. I say that because, at least for me, I find it quite draining to read a lot before starting to play... but maybe that's just my short attention span... haha
Great job, especially for your first jam!!
That's cool! Such a creative yet literal take on the theme! The illustrations are awesome too :D
I would love some music to go with it and also thought some sfx were way too loud, but I understand time is limiting.
Great job!
PS.: I felt a weird nostalgia I can't quite place while playing the flying sections, it was nice :)
You really nailed the theme hahaha! I've managed to beat % but got hit and died at the same time.
And some superhero music would be cool to add while fighting.
