Ok, I have to say that at first the game took me by surprise, it puts you right into the action and it was not clear to me what to do. When I inferred the mechanics and the loading system it seemed like an excellent game! You have done a great job with a very creative mechanic and that gives a lot of content!

Great aesthetic, reminds me of Dead Space. The laser bouncing mechanic is really neat although if it bounces too much it tends to lag out the game for a second. Great work! Keep it up!

The visuals were great. I really liked the animation for the rifle. And the spiders -- creepy.

The theme of "the less you shoot the more it matters" is a really interesting take on the theme. It also it different from other top-down shooters where you're encouraged to be firing away most of the time (meaning this acts more of a stealth game).

Also I really like the "back dash" because it encourages the player to "walk backwards" so they can run away, but the downside is not being able to see what's ahead (as your light is in the opposite direction of your movement) :)

I think it's meant to be an arcade-type of game of "see how long you can survive for" but it would be nice to see maybe an end-goal/objective.

Art and Animations are really good, the sound design is good too. Exept when I’m restarting then the shoot sound is called. You can see the theme really easily in the game what’s very good. The gameplay was interesting but after a few minutes, I thought it could be better. Overall good job!

Thank you for your feedback! There were lots of things we wanted to fix and add but (of course) time ran out so quickly. 🤣Arqcenick did most of the programming, I did the sound design and enemy AI, and PepperBox Games (JustNick) did the art.

Incredible art! The character animations are amazing!

The only thing that could improve is the laser beam that doesn't always come from the barrel of the gun.

Developer

Thank you! JustNick is the one who did all the art. There are so many other things we wanted to put in the game and bugs and balancing and everything but we had to hurry up and submit it before the deadline 🤣 that's the fun of a game jam

That's awesome! Great forms and animations on the characters and a very cool mechanic. I really enjoyed it :D

Thank you! We had so much fun making it that we ran out of time for finishing a couple things 🤣 Which submission did you do so I can check it out tomorrow when I'm at my computer?

Oh wait I see it 😆
