I like the challenge of trying to complete it in as few steps as possible in the dark. I wish I got around to making a scoring system and level system in my submission. You managed the time a lot better than me.
thanks for playing! Actually my main goal with this was figuring out/learning how to create a unique score/high score per level. Everyone has their own goals/things they want to learn with game jams and I know you were trying to learn a whole new game engine, so you may have actually managed your time better than me to be able to make a whole game in a new engine! XD
Nice game , I think the music goes nicely with the visuals, (It might have just been my headphones) but I think the sound effects should be a little louder and the background music a little quieter.
you’re right, I coded the sound effects to be quieter than the background music, but maybe I should have flipped them around. I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for playing! :)
Hello, I like the style of the game on screenshots. Unfortunately, I could not click on levels - they are just not working on my machine. But I believe that it works and it is decent. Good luck!
if you haven’t tried already, try clicking the tutorial button in the top right and then actually playing the tutorial (move the player to the door using WASD). Then level 1 should unlock.
If you have tried that and it still doesn’t work I’m sorry I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work on your system!! :/ thanks for trying anyways though!
Hey. The problem is there is no "Back" button from the "Tutorial" section as well, so I am just stuck there if I press it.
you should be able to press "esc" to open the pause menu, then click the main menu button to go back to the level selector. Hope that helps!
This is nicely done, great idea with visibility :)
thanks for playing! :) I will be sure to play/rate your game as well ASAP!
Sorry to ask but how to start the game...? for me every level are locked.
you have to play the tutorial first, the button is on the top right of the screen.
To clarify: the tutorial is playable, so you need to collect the item & exit the room to unlock Level 1
No worries, thanks for asking! :)
Thanks, I though tutorial is just a text ,I read them and esc to main menu lol
good game btw blind man finding his cloth. XD
yeah I guess I should have made it clearer that the tutorial was playable within the game, so I appreciate you asking & pointing that out to me! Thanks for playing it & for your feedback! :)
This is a very good game. I find the pixel art look very nice and fitting for the game. The menu and level design are also very harmonious, which underlines the dark and mysterious music. I like the idea that you have to play the first levels again in the dark, because if you remember them, it's not that difficult to get a good score in the first run and it's at a nice variation. With the sound design it would have been nice if the single items had different sounds. But otherwise I find it good that the items are random. The game fitts the theme very well in my opinien. Great job!
thanks for playing! I like the idea of each item having their own sound, thanks for the recommendation!
Hey, that was pretty fun. Feels like the dark levels are unfair on your first attempt though. You basically need to throw away one attempt scouting out the room as it's impossible to know the best path ahead of time. It's like being told to do a puzzle where you only have half the pieces. Maybe if you flicker the lights at the beginning of the level for a second or something first would help.
that’s actually a really great idea, thanks! Thanks for playing!
