Ranked from 65 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
It is about cave diving, where you dive deeper and deeper underwater, and underground.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I used my previous menu system for the main menu, settings, etc. All gameplay was coded without reuse or assistance from AI. All art and audio was made during the jam with the assistance of AI, see the credits for the details.

Very interesting and very cute! And the relaxing music made it really enjoyable. The art is nice, but it could be a lot more breathtaking and really immersive after a bit more polishing. The AI voiceover was a little unclear to me at times which sorta caused some troubles, but I got it in the end. Overall, nice work, and I love the real life inspiration!

Confusing at first then but once you truly pay attention to the game its deeply educational and enlightening, would've loved if can add info boxes around the spots for further referencing . Loved it that you took inspiration from real life experience and your partner.

This is interesting, and genuinely educational. I did encounter an issue while laying lines, I missed one of the bubbles and the line disappeared as it was getting dark, so I had to backtrack and get the bubbles I missed.

Nice art, really makes the caves feel alive

Well done David! I was looking forward to it when you told me about your inspiration. And this was so much fun to play, i loved how it taught about so many interesting concepts about cave diving! As always, well done with the AI. Do checkout our game too.. sadly i did the voice acting myself on this one :P

Developer(+2)

I should show you how to do the VO with the AI.  Once you have the system setup, it becomes several times easier to do than recording yourself.  You just type in what you want the audioclip to be and move on.

I think it's cool that the game tries to introduce you to scuba diving. =D
I was able to glitch out of the map at one point and then dove down to 200 meters xD

Developer

Wow!  200m is certainly the record.

I have to give the (not so) fun fact about diving that deep:  Oxygen at normal air 21.3% is toxic below about 57m, so you'd die long before you made it to 200m on the gear provided.

The idea is nice and the voice is good. Game is quite slow and don't understand exactly what to do when finish the line.

Developer

The voice over says to go upward, but that could have been made more obvious.  Thanks for playing! After finishing the line the only thing to see on the surface is the rubber ducky and the voice over saying you're done.

Really cool game, liked the voice acting, art was also nice, although swimming was kinda slow

Wow, man! This game is sooooo deep. I've learned a lot of new information and tools you are used are so cool. Did they cost you any money or they are free to use? Good job! One of my favorites!

Developer(+1)

The cost varies on the tools.

The audio and music are free.  The music requires you request access from Google, but they grant pretty easily.  I had to do a little editing on the music to make it loop properly.

You can get free image generation, but I paid for Runpod.io servers with Stable Diffusion Automatic1111, which are amazingly easy to set up.  They charge about 35c per hour and a 512x512 image takes 2s to generate.  I use the background remover tool, which makes it take about 12s per image, but I just let it run while I code and then come back to browse the image gallery of 20 images for the one I like.  I also used a bit of ControlNet on Scuba Steph to get the poses.  There was cleanup on a number of the images needed, and I did some compositing on Scuba Steph.

Thanks for the reply. By the way, I recorded a video where I play your game among other games. If you interested to see that start around minute 34:00 https://youtu.be/rrcP1iedi5E?si=34O4aE06oUQHqi9F
