How does your game fit the theme?
I went for the classic fantasy dungeon crawler setting of delving deeper and deeper into a unknown dungeon to fit with the "Diving Deeper" theme.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All assets, animation, music and code created by myself.

Your game is amazing and so much fun! It's impressive how much you've done in only a week. Nice work. I like the music, but I felt lacking of more ambience sounds to feel more like a deep dungeon.

Could you try our game too? It's a 2d platformer, and it was our second game jam and one of our first games so far! Your feedback would be really appreciated!

Wizard 101 102?

Things I enjoyed ✔️

  1. The retro aesthetic is amazing! Everything looks great!
  2. The gameplay mechanics are alot of fun! I was enjoying myself the whole time!
  3. The different enemies add to varied combat, which I very much appreciate!

Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷‍♂️

  1. Maybe add different explosion sound effects, in other words just having a Random function that randomizes the explosion sound and pitch, just to make it feel more varied as you play the game.
  2. Maybe you could have zombie type enemies that you have to shoot in the head to actually kill.

Overall 📓

This is one of my favorite games I have played, great job on this game! I had alot of fun playing it and got to the end! Amazing job, and I cant wait for more titles by you!

Very nice game absolutely nails the retro look! Gameplay as the minute flaw that some enemies sometimes throw projectiles through walls but nothing game breaking, just adds to that retro feel.
9.5/10 would play again.

A little side note: when I'm doing retro styled games I like to let the camera render to a render texture and display said texture. You can then scale the resolution of the render texture. This way you can render your game in, for example 420*270, and display it on a full HD monitor without issue and ofcourse you can set the filter mode to any one you like/think fits your game best

I really like it, how did you do the staff explosion effect?

Developer(+1)

thank you!
Its a shader with a scrolling texture + vertex displacement, then I put that on a sphere game object that expands and disappears.

"The End" - It was very fun to play!! I like the visuals very much and destroying those skeletons was just satisfying! Thanks for making this game!
