How does the game fit the theme?
You are in game jam inception, the deadline for the jam is coming up, you have to submit your game in time. Nothing can go wrong.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some audio was pulled from pixabay and about 20% of 3d models were pre existing cg trader models.

Thanks, I know it's pretty common these days, but we thought it'd be fun to try

Wow! In general, I really enjoy horror games of the same style (first person, everyday situations), and this one is no exception. The game is very engaging, and the atmosphere truly creates a sense of fear. The only downside is that jumpscares aren't very frightening—they feel a bit weak. However, overall, the game is fantastic—definitely one of my favorites!

Appreciate the feedback! We've heard quite a bit about the jump scares not being very scary. It's our first real plunge into the genre so a lot of time was spent designing core systems. Hopefully we'll nail it better in the future. Thanks for playing!

really appreciate the feedback! We are tuning the jump scares to be a little more intense

First, why the game name is George on the exe like ?

Now let's place to the review :

đź‘Ť First of all, I love the style—the models are great! That house really scared me. I also love the game mechanics, the coding, and the ability to throw objects.

đź‘Ť Secondly, regarding the jumpscares, they’re fine, but I won’t lie—maybe adding more sound effects, especially when the jumpscare happens, could improve them. For example, in the first jumpscare, when someone knocks on the door, you open it, and he kill you—maybe it would be more effective if the killer was behind you instead. Having them right behind the door feels a bit too predictable.

đź‘Ť Thirdly, at first, I was going to suggest adding a save system so players could reload their progress after quitting. But now that I think about it, that would be a lot of work for a small feature.

I reread my review and realized I didn’t say this explicitly, but—this is a great game ! Sometimes I forget to mention it, but I really want a sequel. I see that there are just two of you working on this project, and I wish you both the best for your game !

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are still crunching on ramping up the scares. Hopefully the final version for the jam will fulfill on your wishes. The save system would certainly be a nice to have and might be visited in the future. Thanks for commenting on the models, I enjoyed trying to find creative ways to make stuff look old. This was a test of our horror game system, while being a bit more comedic. We're just two Dads trying to push out games while juggling everything else in life. Glad you enjoyed it!

I really appreciate the feedback! I like the idea to have the jumpscare happen behind you when open the door! Might try to squeeze that in before the jam deadline. Either way THANKS SO MUCH for playing and the feedback
