Cute game! Loved the retro music! Suprisingly I also liked the fact that you had to press the movement keys rather than just holding them down, I was pleasantly surprised.

I had fun spamming the movement buttons to shoot. I was a little confused what the icons meant, I thought the cancel sign over them meant they wouldn't spawn, but they spawned with that on them. Maybe ran out of time? I know that feeling, lol. Fun concept. Great job!

I think that the idea is pretty nice and I liked the visuals and the sound effects.
The controls could be better and the game could use a tutorial level and an options menu to lower the music volume.
The idea behind the player only shooting on move was surprisingly fun, however the controls are still pretty exhausting. I agree with the other comments that it would be better to be able to hold down the buttons.

I agree with the other comments, I like the grid based movement, but don't really see how it fits the theme.

In any case, well done.

Fun game - I really like the grid based movement! Just wish you could hold down keys instead of mashing them.
