In what way does your game fit the theme?
You can rewind the position of your character a few seconds back.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I have made most of the assets from scratch ( except repainting the free hero sprites + my friend made a background template for me that I have edited it further to fit the game). Speaking about code, I am fresh to Unity so i used tutorials to create most of my code a tweaked it slightly according to my needs and kept learning. Hope its alright.

I saw that you made a desert themed game as I did, so I suddenly got interested. The game is really good, but it lacks an important thing: music, as a composer, I could tell you that a good track would turn this game epic. Leaving aside this and the theme of rewind that could have been used better, the game is very nice, considering that it's your first time. Good job, keep it up and get even better

Thank you for giving it a try!

My initial plan was to include some sort of music, but I was really short on time and sadly did not manage to find any good free theme, so I went for the wind at least and ending theme at least. You are right, the rewind mechanic could have been used better, I think more interactive map would help (you can rewind past closed gates, from traps etc.

Anyway, thank you for your comment and critique, I really appreciate it!

Really cool graphics and theme. I didn't see another game with this desert theme. The characters are really great!

Amazing job!

Nice man, congrats on doing the game and working hard on the scripting part! The characters are great, I really liked that and the audio usage. I liked how you can try again very fast when dying.

Good work! I would appreciate some feedbkac on mine if you like, thanks

Developer

Thank you for such a positive notice!

Already gave you some :)

I love the audio and graphics. The controls are kinda weird, and the level design doesn't make use of the rewind mechanic. Also I found a way to run across the bottom of the screen lmao. All that being said, this game was still really cool and a lot of fun.

Developer

Thank you!

Yeah, as I mentioned earlier, I was thinking about implementig interactive level layout, but didnt have much time left and whats more important: know-how.

Thats weird bug, running across the bottom of the screen should not be possible (in one level there is one path where you dont have to encounter any enemies tho).

Anyway, thank you for your comment, I appreciate it!

I wish the level was designed so that you would have to use the rewind mechanic to beat them,. Also it got a bit frustrating with the insta-death + respawn when touching hazards, I wish I could just rewind past my mistake (I can with jumping, so why not with enemies?). However, I know some people like those games (just look at celeste) so maybe it's just me.

The sprites and background were pretty nice.

Thank you for the notice!

I was trying to figure out how to make the levels a little bit more..interactive, just as you say, but was short on time and my unity experiences are one month worth. It is a little punishing and so frustrating, i know, my intention was to make not an easy game.

In the future (after the jam ends) i will polish the game and invest some more time and nerves into it :) so stay tuned!

That's pretty amazing for only one month worth of experience. Hope you continue on it :)

Thank you, without this nice community and tutorials I would be completely lost.

fun to make it through the levels but the attack and movement seemed a bit float making it hard to hit an enemy, still a great job!

Developer

Thank you for your comment!

The attack is definetly little tweaked to actually hurt the enemies on the slashing part of the animation. I wanted more like "I had to position myself, attack, winded my attack and then my enemy died", not just "I pressed F and immedately my enemies are gone". But yeah, could have been more snappy.

And speaking about movememt. I believe that adding more velocity to the fall part of the jump would make things little bit more "player-friandly". May add that to the polished version, now i I just wanted to gather comments.

Anyway, thank you for giving it some time to play the game and then leaving a comment for me, I appreciate it so much!

I love the crunch sound when defeating an enemy. I hate to say it, but I have more fun with not using the rewind option. The key assignemt feels a bit off to me, but I got used to it. I love that you cannot go back without using the rewind. It makes your choice weigh much more. I love this intense feeling!
