Please tell me i'm not the only one who submitted an unfinished game... 馃槜 (That would be akward 馃槄)

My game is not really unfinished, but my level reflection lights were not baked, so my level is looking kinda dull, but other than that, it鈥檚 complete! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723041

I'll play it tomorrow!!! 馃槂馃憤

I rushed through half of it to get the game mechanics down (and art, I focused waaaay too much on art and left level design for last which was a mistake). I didn't get to add sound effects so it sounds kinda dull. https://ninfar.itch.io/sea-of-artifice

Lesson I learned from this was to plan my levels beforehand. It was a great experiece though! Second game/game jam

Yeah i struggle with this problem too!!! That's half the reason why my games end up unfinished !!(The other half is because i scope a little bit too big)

Submitted (1 edit)

Yeah, I scope too big as well (I wanted to add multiple weapons with upgrades for my second game jam as a solo developer lol), I think plannig the levels and the mechanics and drawing them on paper would help with this, as it would be easier to understand the project and the size of the scope ahead of time

Dosen't need to be, if you don't feel like continue it!!!

Mine often remain as they are submitted for the jam, even the unfinished one... (that's because i made some spaghetty code, that i don't feel confortable enough to revisit, but that's beside the point... 馃ぃ)
