That was pretty fun, but I would have liked to see more than one level. I also had a problem with the dash being a double tap instead of a button. I found myself falling a lot when I was trying to correct my jump and accidentally double-tapped a direction instead. I also would have liked to see the dash be used for something. Like, make a barrier that can only be passed by dashing through it, or have a gap with a ceiling over it so you can't jump it and have to dash over it.

Overall, this was a great entry. Keep it up.

Thanks for the feedback!  I've been working on this quite a bit since the jam, and I ended up mapping dash left to q and dash right to e.  I like that better, but I really want to set up controller support and use L1 and R1.  I also made it so that when you dashed you could deflect the enemy bullets back at them, which is a lot of fun.  I'm still very lacking in the number of levels, though!

I unfortunately can't play it, I am on a mac. :( It looks good from the screen shots though.

Developer

Hey I made a build for you since you said it looks cool!  I don't have a mac so I have no idea if it works!

Yeah sorry, it didn't work. I appreciate that you tried though.

I liked the game overall although it was a bit short, having more levels would have been nice. In the end I gave up trying to jump from one platform to another when there were all those platforms with a gap and i dashed between them instead, much easier. Maybe make bullets faster or add more enemies to add in to the chaos? Also jumping is a bit unnatural as it feels like you are in a lowered gravity environment… try making it a bit more snappy and it would be great!

The controls feel very good and overall a nice game!

Well, there is potential in this game. It overall is nice, a little short, If I would change anything it would be:

- I'd combine the Tutorial and main level.

- This blaze attack shouldn't go through the walls.

Thanks for the feedback!  Good advice that I can use for next time!

And now for the feedback on the game :)

I liked it a lot! It looked really nice (also the zoom out when you start the level :O) and very juicy. The dash felt really satisfying, but I thought it was a shame I barely had to use it. Maybe if I could have killed enemies by dashing into them that would have been nice. It was also such a shame that there was only one level. I would have loved to play more!

One could argue that checkpoints would be good in this game, because you have to start all over again when you die. But I actually think I like the game without them. It makes it more challenging, and more rewarding when you do reach the finish line.

Great job! I am happy I was able to play it at last :)

Great feedback!  You're a scholar and a saint!

I would really like to play your game, but unfortunately I cannot play it. :(

In order to play a game built with Unity you need the other files in the build folder as well (not just the .exe file). For example, for my game 'Rocketjumper' I need all these files to be able to run it:

All these should be in the .zip file that you upload.

Let me know if you fix it! I would love to try your game :)

Thank you so much for letting me know!  The jam doesn't let me upload hotfixes, so I've left a link instead.  Thanks again, I might never have noticed!

Now I was able to play the game! Thanks for the fix :D

Hmm, maybe you can contact the organizers about the hotfix? It would be such a shame to not have your game player after you put so much effort into it :(

And you are very welcome :)
