In what way does your game fit the theme?
It is a bullet hell hence it has the elements of chaos in it, in addition not being able to shoot means you need to be further aware of enemies and bullets making this game even more chaotic as more enemies spawn.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes
ahhh i wanted to make a game like this...till i realized i had no more time
nice work, nice concept!
did you use the full week? just curious
Yep, I used the whole week, I tried getting all main mechanics working in the first 3 days, then in the 4th and 5th day I made art and made code for powerups and improved the code for everything else. Then on the 6th I made the enemies (which i already made a script for just needed to tweak parameters and make the sprites). On the 6th in the evening I also exported and made the cover art as I knew I wouldn’t have time on the 7th in the morning (for me it ended at 11AM).
Now here I am just rounding the days cause really since the first day started at 11AM too that would have technically been day 1 and so day 7 would have not actualy been day 7 but yeah, I spent that day on developing on the concept, I already had a vague idea but didn’t know certain changes I’d have made.
Nice game! I love the art style and the music, and it's a nice take on the 'bullet hell' style.
One thing I wish there was more of was Sound Effects. It would've been way more satisfying for there to be footsteps and power-up sounds. It was also a bit confusing on what could hurt you and what couldn't.
Overall, nice entry!
The game is indeed chaotic :D Also the main mechanic is pretty fun to use !
I wish there was a reflect sound effect and particle effects to give the player feedback that they are deflected a bullet. Also temple background hides bullets very well you should look at that :/
Overall it was fun deflecting :D great work !
I’ve been told about the temple and I also realised that background also hides the time counter… so I think I’ll be recolouring some things especially for the temple stage to make it more contrasting. Bullet colour was actually temporary, i was planning to use the same colour schemes as the enemy shooting it but didn’t have time so I made a greyscale to then modulate colour over in godot only to realise that only worked on the enemies. Will fix it after the jam.
Hey there,
I played and rated your game accordingly!
I liked the idea of putting the player in an area where there are bullets flying towards the player!
Do consider playing and rating my game as well: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/rate/1177996
Thanks a lot!
Really nice game. It is so chaotic and the music is great. 4 and a half out of 5!
Great art and audio! It's a pretty challenging game but it fits with being chaotic. The bugs exists but at least they don't break the game! Good job!

Very unique game mechanics indeed. I think it need some polish over the UI and the bugs which you have mentioned in the page. Artstyle is pretty great, only the bullets in the temple map should have been different in color. It was very hard to see that bullets in temple because the floor was also almost the same color as the bullets. Except that I enjoyed This game very much.
I agree with what you said about the polishing and bugs, thanks about the artstyle by the way, I drew everything myself apart from the trees which are made by GoldenKing. I totally agree on the temple map thing, that map was rushed on the last day of the jam and I didn’t have much time to tweak things around… In fact bullets were meant to resemble the colour scheme of the enemy sending it but I didn’t have time to implement that so I left it like it is right now.
once you get the hang of it its really fun to play and when you deflect the bullet towards the player its really satisfying !
the only issues i had were
>the bug that you already mentioned
>and the enemy spawning right between you and the shield
