What are the best games you played in the jam?

I am planning to make a video about the best games of Brackeys jam (and also possibly about most original ones) for my channel (https://youtu.be/aP9eKrnyxe4)

So I am assembling candidates for best games

Please only submit game-candidates if you:

Played at least 15-25 games (or already participated in 4 jams) so you have something to compare it to
AND
Genuinely think that the game can be in top 40 (by fun or game-design, everything else is secondary)
remember, top 40 out of 1771 is top 2.26% - that's a HIGH BAR

unless you are absolutely sure it can be top 20 - it's harder to see flaws in your own game so the bar should be higher. I typically give honest reviews and rating, so if you are looking to get high rating, I am not the best person to do that anyway.

I've already played your game. It's cool from a technical perspective that you've made digging mechanic, but it's lacking gameplay-wise:

I felt like a have no goal (the main one)
Challenge (enemies, etc.) was missing
The character becomes tired and then moves very slow, energy doesn't seem to restore
Gun-energy is limited and doesn't restore either

There is a goal forgot to mention in the game it is there in the game description

The biggest challenge was being saved from tornado when you're speed is slow I did want to add enimies but unity navmesh which is for ai doesn't updates in runtime and I will have to use machine learning for it to be good it requires a day to train itself I only worked2 days I also made a dinosaur model with 5k textures

Gun energy is limited but if it restores you will take a easy way and just explore underground and find the ⛵

The character slow speed helped in causing a chaos and to create some challenge and thanks for the feedback :-)

I think this is actually very weak, to be honest: impossibly hard to play, requires page reload (with game redownload) to restart, etc.

I won't disagree on page relod but that's a WebGL problem and I found the game quite fun in my opinion ofcourse.

Played all these three. My take:

Office Chaos is quite polished, but also not super interesting/fun
Yin: cool mechanic idea, but no game-play so far (no challenge, you just go back and forth)
Total Ethical testing area - is a gem and a very strong candidate - I played it for 39 minutes and I have yet to complete the last level

Played your game, pesky humans got what they deserved, I think all of them.

The main thing I would suggest is:

to make it so you could kill people and possibly animal control as well.
add more gameplay, e.g. missions (enrage human in greeh t-shirt, kill N people, etc.)

You are probably already aware that you can't see behind houses and that's inconvenient.

Thanks for trying out my game and the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind when i'm remaking it. Yeah the overlapping is pretty annoying, it was my first time making an isometric game and i didn't predict how well the view would work with the actual gameplay.

I'd love you to check out mine. Its unique platformer and top-down blending. This is my first jam BTW. Please check the gameplay, I bet you will love the challenge when you play by yourself.

My take on these:

Alpaca game is quite weak
Text and drive is an interesting idea, but I think lacking in game design (I wrote more details on game's page)

We'll I think our cover art helped us a lot, also we,ve been trying to be as active as we can posting in the community and playing games and leaving good feedback
