How does you game fit the theme?
The game follows a knight who is unwittingly stuck in a simulation. You can break him out by finding all 5 keys - there is one hidden in each level.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

great game but one problem I have is that you get sent back all the way to the beginning when you die I found myself standing in a safe spot for a few minutes just waiting for my health regen just so I wouldn't have to go all the way to the beginning
Cool game you have made, and the art is great too. But the camera is a bit annoying, it would be nice if the player was centered on screen.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, we are getting many complaints about the camera so we will be sure to keep that in mind for future projects!
The main problem is the camera and the jump, I miss a tutorial, but I like it the idea and It's amazing the graphics :D!
We've noted improvements like fixing the camera to see what's in front of the knight. Thank you all so much for giving our game a try, reviewing it, and leaving feedback. We very much appreciate the criticism so in the future (when we do game jams again) we can solve these and make better games- keep giving us feedback!
Really fun game! Loved the art style and concept. The character controller was a bit too touchy for me, but that's just personal preference
The art and gameplay is fun, but the camera make combat and parkour really annoying
I loved the art and little lore you got there. It was well presented. I love the way you put the game together. SFX and BGM were a bit loud but I loved how BGM was giving a good setting.
Also, I can say that I could see there is a room for upgrading 2D controlling for platformers. I wasn't comfortable while playing. I am not good at it either so I can not actually give you a proper advise. Maybe you didn't have time to upgrade it tho pardon me if i am mistaken.
If you are interested reach me out I can give you an interesting gith hub for a good open source 2D controller!
Hey! Geo here! Thanks so much for the feedback, the team would love the link to the open-source character controller. We are beyond happy you had a good experience with the game and we are always looking for improvement!
Github link of 2D controller that contains hidden tricks by Tarodev!
Here! I thought about using but but my concept was different. This provides a lot of interesting movement mechanics(which i suck at it) for a 2D platformer type games! Thank you for your interest!
Love the pixel art. :)
I have same thoughts about the camera movement. I didn't realize you can attack with a click, I just ran and jumped until the second checkpoint. The HP regen saved me.
I like the visuals, but I think the camera needs to be forward more. I couldn't see the enemies until they hit me. Also, if you land on an enemy, you can't get off and it is a death sentence. Mabey that could be fixed with something like a round collision shape.
Great game for the first time! However, I did not quite like the camera movement. I would prefer the camera being fixed on the player and move with him all the time. I could not react fast enough because the player was all the way on the right side of the screen.
I would appreciate you checking out my game too: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1419037
Be as critical as you want.
Great Game, but the camera/screen shows too much space behind the player, giving a little visibility of what lies ahead...
Very good graphics, movement was a little floaty. And gosh hwo can I avoid this knights ^^?
Bonus points for original stuff! Enjoyed playing but did take a second to get used to the controls. I would definitely play more stuff like this in the future.
good game, nice art but the movement is a bit annoying.
Really loved this game :D the jump and run part was really funny and i loved the differend endings :D the music was great too!
I really enjoyed the game, even though i am not a big fan of jump and runs
The are and color palette are really appealing! I love how you have a story in the beginning. Reminds me of a lot of childhood (S)NES games.
Pro tip, just automatically restart when the player dies. Don't ask them if they want to continue. By asking, you are really asking them to say "no." People will play a game longer if it just keeps playing without interruption. ;)
Nice work though!
