How does your game fit the theme?
The story is about a musician who is lost and looking for inspiration at the end club, he finds it, starting something new.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Code is from scratch, all npcs from scratch, some models from sketch fab and itch.io

Pretty trippy game.

But overall, very cool atmosphere!

Thanks!

I sure would like to give this one six stars for graphics, as I really found it exceptional how moody an atmosphere the lighting and asset choice create.  Sharp, low-poly models combined with modern fashions and harsh nightclub lighting gave me a feel that was way higher than the budget of the title would suggest, and had real VtM: Bloodlines vibes, if you enjoyed that title.  It also had some Else Heart.Break(); to it, unless I miss my guess.

I had some trouble talking to characters, as it was not always obvious where I needed to face to engage the text prompt, or whom I'd be able to talk to vs. whom I couldn't.  It wasn't too much of an inhibition, as it's far from the only game (even in this jam! I've had that problem with.

One thing that deserves especial callout is the quality of the dialogue presentation.  Despite the audio being relentless, the visuals are engaging, obvious, and technically well-implemented - it's hard to get into a state in which the text you're meant to be experiencing is not visible or obvious to you, and that's a lot to say for an in-scene-text implementation done for a 7-day game!

Overall I was very impressed, thank you for the game!

I'm glad you liked the aesthetics, though the aesthetics department isn't quite finished yet, I want redo a lot of areas to further enhance the mood/vibe of the game.
The dialogue was designed by the programmer, it impressed me too, one of my favourite aspects of the game as well.  I am glad you enjoyed the game despite not being finished :)

yeah the games aesthetics are really cool. The added dialogue with some of the random npc's is a nice touch. some things I noticed was that when talking to vex his dialogue was backwards and I had no idea what I was doing after talking to him. There was some mistakes in the dialogue with some npc's. but the game is really good. I like that you added life into your characters and how they are constantly moving around. good work guys.

It's nice to see despite not finishing that people can at least see the hard work we put into this jam. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. The vex dialogue was a bug we had no time to fix, we were REALLY frustrated by that ahaha.

Dw it will be a feature in the final cut. If we had more time it would have for sure been in the game :D

This project was made by two people
We had many ideas for this project but unfortunately didn't have the time to finish it, so the last moments are very broken.

A bit painful to release this knowing the potential it could have been when. I hope you all see what we tried to do. We put a lot of our favourite music and humour into this, try to talk to all the npcs!

We plan to finish this game jam and make it into a full 1-2 hour long story of this musicians path down the club and the people in the city.

Here are the controls
Movement: W A S D
Space: Playing guitar (you'll need this to talk to the groove king)

Vex dialogue is unfortunately broken, here is the dialogue.

"Vex: Hey there, I've been watching you play here for years.

You're good, but I can tell you're becoming disillusioned. You need something new.

Player: What do you mean?

Vex: There's a club down in End Street called The End. I know a guy there with good moves. No one knows his real name, but he's called the Groove King. The Groove King knows a guy that I think could help you. The boy is young and short, you'll notice him by his grooves. Impossible to miss him.

Ask the guy on the whereabouts of EJ. EJ is quite the dude, I think you'll wanna talk to him. Look, I'll call you a taxi, it'll be waiting for you when you get outside, aight?

Player: Alright, thanks."
