Very well done! There's a surprising amount of content in the game, and all of it is pretty well-polished. Loved the artwork too.
As I started the game I immediately thought "ooh this game reminds me of Astronautilus" and sure enough when I beat it I see neozoid games in the credits!
It looks really, really pretty! The gameplay felt a little alien to me and it took a minute to get used to the controls, but the combo mechanics of Astronautilus were familiar. Scoring goes crazy pretty fast if you're doing perfectly well so it's a little too much for me, but the boss and enemy design is really neat. It's very polished and it was nice to see the boss animated!
My only complaint is that the level felt too long, but it makes sense since there's only one level so far to begin with. I have only gotten the "good ending" but it seems that the errr "not good ending" (if you use continues?) and S rank ending have their own cutscenes too?
Either way, great work! While Astronautilus picks up the torch of Darius mixed with Monolith, Fishy Dreams takes the Darius torch from Astronautilus and pours some Touhou into its veins
the game is incredibly wonderful, its gameplay, its arts, controls, mechanics and sounds are incredible, everything makes the game immersive, its music is very good and striking, nostalgic reminds me a lot of Kirby Super Star, just perfect!
I'm just going to say it: This game is adorable! And fun too! Seriously it's one of the most polished games that I've played for the jam so far and there are a lot of factors contributing to that. For starters, the art is great, and as I mentioned before, adorable. The gameplay is also great and while I was confused a little at first I quickly got the hang of it. It's a very simple setup but I think that works really well in making it an enjoyable and accessible experience
Uh oh, my first game to rate might be the best one. Seriously though, everything about this game is amazing. Simple controls but very challenging. Feels great to play. Art and visuals are absolutely breathtaking (haha). The theme is the only weak part of the game, and it's not really that loose on the theme either. Amazing game. Congratulations!

Important thing to note that the "vBHJam" builds are meant for the bullet hell jam which is a lot more fleshed out while the "vJam" builds are meant for the Touhou Fangame Jam which is done in 4 days within the bullet hell jam period.
