Fun game! Waaaay too fast for my abilities, and the sounds really stressed me out xD But I tried a few times because it was so entertaining. I think I found either a bug or something missing: before the actual game starts (at the small intro), you can make your ship exit the screen through any of the sides, and then that's it for the rest of the game, you cannot come back, just shoot and wait to die, because even when you lose your ships you stay stuck outside the screen. On a  different case, now during the game, you can still exit the screen through the top side, although this time you can come back. Maybe you should close that side too, like you did with the rest, or maybe the ship could reappear through the bottom side I guess. Fantastic job anyways!

Thank you!
About the bug, I didn't notice, thanks a lot for sorting that out.
The sounds were added at the very last day. When the Jam is over I'll publish a Postmortem telling the whole story.

Thanks. I'm a huge fan of retro games and since I'm not a great artist I decided to take that approach

Really nice game. Used to love playing these type of games as a kid. I do have a few notes:

  • The enemies are a bit too fast. Sometimes trying to react to their fire can be hard.
  • Maybe see about using slightly different image for the enemy bullets since a few times I got lost between which were my bullets and which were the enemy ones.

Thanks. About your notes:

  • Indeed the enemies (and the bullets BTW) are too fast. The triangle-shaped enemy was introduced at the last moment and I didn't have enough time to set a proper speed
  • Since I chose rule A (only black and white), I had no choice. But in a next version I'll change the bullets so it would be easier to distinguish them

I think just a slightly different shape to the enemy bullets would be enough to distinguish. Great work otherwise.

Not bad but man those bullets are so fast I don't have time to mentally process them sometimes.
