Yes I ended up deleting it by accident and couldn't reload it till after the jam. Panicked a little but just accepted that won't be getting much of a score in this jam :D

Just reloaded the game if you want to give it a go :)

Nice game! The art was cool. But for me the controls were a bit unclear as was not sure if the crafted weapons auto attacked or not.

Very nice game! I will echo what someone else has said already. An interact icon over the npc's would be a great quality of life addition.  And it be great if the player either moved a bit faster or the dash was for greater distance to make it feel like you can really move around.

Great work otherwise!

Great game! Loved everything about it. Did notice that occasionally bosses would be just off screen on the bottom left or right. Maybe some cursor icon for the player would also help them know where exactly they are aiming at (not a big deal since it was still very easy to do)

Really like the concept and the art. Like how the health bar of the boss falls down when he takes damage. The thing that stood out is, that you can only really do damage to the boss with heavy attack since the light attack puts you in the damage hit box.

Nice game art. The text font used made it difficult to read the instructions. When fighting the first boss was a bit confused on how he should be attacked. Great work otherwise.

Great game! Has a few interesting boss mechanics that you need to learn

Nice game! The only thing that stuck out was, having to jump into the boss path to land an attack which would also result in you taking damage. A little frustrating but otherwise great work

Thanks for that! Ended up with a significant time crunch but got something out there anyway :D

Liked the game. Pretty neat idea having to manage your speed and firerate by having to decide which one to bring back up.

I do have a few notes:

  • Wasn't sure if you could indefinetly keep bringing up the speed and fire rate. There didn't seem to be any cost associated with it so found my self just spamming clicking until I maxed out the speeds.
  • Would be great to see what the maximum fire rate and speed you can get up to. There seemed to be a limit of around 50 as spam clicking didn't get you above it. Being able to see it would be great I think. Would help with deciding if it's worth upgrading it again. If it was tied to a resource cost then this could possibly add a layer of strategy.
  • It be nice to see a damage indicator for the boss. Didn't know how much more damage I had to do to the boss and all I could really do was just keep managing the speed and avoiding the boss attacks.
  • And this is a personal one, but it be great if the upgrade buttons could be linked to a keyboard button when playing on a pc. This way you could keep moving and maintain a nice flow. Found that having to move off the play area which stopped the player in place to manage the upgrades made for both a bit of panicky play trying to make sure there are no enemies incoming and for these breaks where it didn't feel like I was doing much.

Would like to see this expanded upon into a flushed out game. I think it would be a wonderful game to play.

Liked the visuals and the audio. The animation of the stars, grass and trees was really cool!

Just as a few people mentioned. Wasn't really sure what the purpose was. And not sure how it fits with the theme. Something to expand on that would of been great.

Would of really liked a bit more substance. Maybe an explanation as to why you are walking or something happening at the end when you reach the cliff to which you need to react.

Liked the game! The different puzzles with the different brushes were great!

Loved the game! And the music was just beautiful! Liked the shanty.

The only thing for me was that the tenticles were a bit hard to control.

Thank you for the feedback!

Nice game. And neat idea that when you jump the colours change.

A few hints of where you should go as the player would be really nice as sometimes wasn't sure which direction to take and where to jump to.

Nice game! Really like the platforming, art and sound.  The levels were nicely designed too.

The only thing I noticed was that the enemies could hit you from much further away that it looked. This ended up catching me quite a bit.

Otherwise loved it.

Loved the game. Looks great! I like that you had a destructible environment of sorts and could run over cows and even people! Similar to the first 2 GTA games.

As someone mentioned the driving it self felt a bit slugish. Found that the handbrake was almost needed to make tight turns but even then it would sometimes result only in a 90 degree turn.

The weapons did feel a bit week but I think that was because I just couldn't make out how much health the enemies had left.

Loved the game. Looks great and like the simple piano background. Suits it well.

As someone already mentioned the only thing I would adjust is the player speed. I think I minor speed increase should be enough to make it feel a bit faster.

Thanks for the review. Was looking to build something with simple mechanics but that would just mess with you mind a bit.

Thank you for the review!

Thank you!

Thanks for the review. Currently in the process of implementing some of the feedback that was left.

Nice game. Liked how the music reacts to the higher score. The one thing for me would be to increase player movement. Sometimes you would loose the round because you just couldn't move out of the way fast enough.

Loved the art style and the short game!  And as few people mentioned, having the colour swapping added to things outside the first room would definitely been great.

And maybe add some sort of indicator for at least the first level showing that you can colour swap. Was stuck for a while till i read some of the comments and realized that it's something you click on to change the colour. Great work otherwise.

Really nice game. Liked everything about it. One thing for me was that the positioning of enemies or certain jumps meant that the obstacle couldn't be avoided. But then could be just me being bad at the game.

Thanks for the review and I've started adding in the changes that were mentioned in the reviews :)

I liked the platformer.  Liked the idea of having to be active and with the colour swaps. It did end up costing me a life a few times but feels like a good skill based mechanic.

Some of the leaps of faith were a bit frustrating since you wouldn't know which direction to go to. Having said that, personally I liked having to jump and figure out where the plaform is by failing. And then slowly getting to build up a picture of the level that way.

The only thing for me would be to have a some sort of indicator in which direction I should go at the start of the level.

I think just a slightly different shape to the enemy bullets would be enough to distinguish. Great work otherwise.

Pretty fun game. Really liked the fast pace of it and having the timer not follow you made it less distracting.

Yeah..made me laugh when I fell for it. Loved that trip up.

Thanks for the feedback. There is a lot to think about. I do like your suggestion of having the balls possibly clear obstacles for each other. This way even the spikes could be introduced in a simple way where they are one of the hazards you would need to clear out of the way.

(1 edit)

Really liked the game. Reminded me of a few games that I used to play like this. The music is quite nice and made me want to keep skiing and just trying to slalom. I like how the game rewards you for being a bit more agressive.

Oh I don't think I'm the right person to give feedback for music since I'm not really good at it. Hopefully this is of some use.

To me  it sounds  almost like you are playing some type of scary game. It sounds very suspenseful while the game play is supper chill. I was expecting something to happen while playing around. But nothing really did. Listened to it again it had me feeling a bit uneasy if that makes any sense.

The intent I had was that it would eventually be a bit mind bending trying to track all of them at the same time. It was what ended up getting me all happy when I solved one of the puzzles while tracking 3 or 4 players at the same time.

But I will give spike idea a try. Would most likely need to redesign some of the levels but could be worth it :)

Lovely game. Really enjoyed that. I liked the idea of giving the player false hope of using a minimap and then resetting them while making fun of it too.

Great game. Liked the idea of giving the option to jump and then taking it away. As well as all of the "dad" jokes that were written across the way. Ended up reading them and failing a few times!
