I just wanted to let all of you know that you aren't the worst here and possibly encourage you a bit. I think I'm among the rare ones that have never built a game before, yet participate in a jam. Not that I'm new to programming (been doing F#, C# and C++ for the past 4 years), but I was always concentrating so hard on making my own engine. So I decided to go for Unity or Godot and by following some of the documentation, tutoriales etc. finish at least what could be called a game. Good luck to everyone and have a nice time coding! :)
