What Engine and Codebase did you use?
Node.js, Electron (electron is an branch of chromium that allows JavaScript webpages to run as apps)
Did you make the art? What Program/Source did you use?
Everything contained in this project other than Electron, Node.js Chalk, downSample, and jimp were made solely by me.
Jimp is a node module that allows maniplulation of images similar to the default <canvas> object
Downsample handles downsampling images
Chalk allows coloring terminal text, included but unused
the rendering engine was made solely by my within the contraints of the Game Jam
Did you make the SFX/Music? What Program/Source did you use?
No, there are two sound effects, a door and walking i got them from some free royalty free site
Did you recive any help from other Participants/People? If so, why?
no.
If you used any Third-Party content in your submission, please link the source here. (as well in the submission page)
N/A i can't find the sounds website but they were after thoughts any ways
Github Source Code Link (optional)
http://the source code is 10 gb and a mess :( I don't want to wait for the 9gb push so nah
Other Notes?
The first 2 days of this jam were spent making the render engine, the game is much shorter than intended and does not have a proper ending,
If you want to see the full capabilities of the render engine see demo for a real time render
or DemoV2 for a preRendered Demo,
Press render if you want to see all the assets for the game rerender
press game if you want to play the game
Dark mode exists but it sucks, do not use it, it was for debug

spent the first 2 days on the render engine, the game is much shorter than it could be
if chests constantly spawn move left or right atleast once it will fix it
a,w,d to move
c to parry
q,e to look around
once downloaded run Main.exe to start imma kill someone (for legal reasons thats a joke) if this compile is still over 1gb
..... its still 2 gb
try enabling prune repos?
ERROR :(
try reinstalling electron packer? !?!?!?!??!?!?!
try npm install --dev?
maybe dev dependancys arnt installed some how?
hype!!>>!>! it compiled
5gb
left over code too big?
183mb?????
took out style.css :(
recompiled: HYPE
pretending to orginise files
pasting .5gb into the main folder
???????
unpack zip and run: "Main.exe" to play
go left or right to fix chest bug
check out demo, or demoV2 to see the render engine's capabilities (the main thing that i made, (game was made in 12hours, sorry :( got distracted with cool idea.))
only 1/3 of a GB ez moeny
NOTE: darkmode has been added, it makes the program look far worse and is for debug, it sets the background to grey, the program renders in darkness thus this makes it look much darker and worse, don't use it unless debug or somthing, its there cus im not recompiling this.
Windows only, if you realy need anything else, ask and i will add one, but not right now.

The aesthetic is pleasant! Great job! although in the beginning i spent some time trying to understand what to do haha... The only thing may i criticize is the lack of sfx or music. Anyways good job!
Wow! This turned out really good! The text rendering engine is a really cool aesthetic to the game.
Also, my main point of criticism is that there is a lack of sound design. Maybe incorporate some music or sound effects.
ye, the sound design that was included was just the foot steps and door noise whitch added a lot, but unfortuntly i kinda ran out of time
This is a really cool concept! I've always loved the ASCII art style, so this felt nicely nostalgic. I think my main feedback would be to try communicating the player's purpose a little earlier on, that way we can put some context behind what we're playing. Great job!
My friend immiditly asked what the "it will cut" thing is about, its a joke from forged in fire, or whatever that blacksmithing show is.
