- Game design is stellar: enemy attack charge bar, X-hit weapon passives, wheat spawning per run, alternate weapon styles, all feel really nice to play with. Nice enemy variation (artstyle fits super well) and dungeon layout didn't feel too repeptitive. Would have liked a way to use "poor" versions of ingredients to combine into better ones or something of the sort. I had so much fun playing this game (I played it for 90 minutes straight) I got the party hat with all the weapons and fully discovered each ingredient:) --- This game is probably the most complete game out of everything submitted -- loved the food theme and the copywriting really made me smile! This is incredible work, especially considering that it was a solo dev project. Great job! I think a bit more instruction in terms of making/eating the takoyaki could be helpful -- to me it wasn't clear how to combine the ingredients + whether eating takoyaki would persist or not at first. --- 37/40

Love this game <3 Super cute art and music, good vibes overall. I found myself struggling a little in the cave, but it was still managable. The UI is intuitive, but I wish I can go back to the tutorial whenever I want.
I like the nice sprite and art work and overall polished game.
I think the shooting trigger could be improved -- I feel like the game could have been more pleasant if I could control when I shoot (i.e. I want to not shoot when I don't want to shoot).
This game is amazing. I personally am into roguelites and roguelike games and this one is very addicting. I do wish there were somewhere I can see what each powerup icon meant I couldn't find it in the guide :<. My favorite part about the game was figuring out the combinations of ingredients and it was what kept me playing!
This is absolutely amazing and really solidly designed! This resembles a game with a lot more polish and work done in just a week, so well done!
The core gameplay loop of digging into the dungeon to get takoyaki ingredients that improves your stats is really solid, and it has a really well designed difficulty curve that pushes the player to encourage further exploration for more ingredients. The presentation of the graphics and the icons are clean and really suit the style and gameplay, and the sound feedback on using the takoyaki stand, attacking enemies and taking damage are well integrated. The feedback for damaging enemies and even a progress bar to show how close an enemy is to attacking you is a really really nice touch and shows real care and attention to the player experience! :D The enemies in game are really cutesty and unique to the design and setting, this is a really unique concept that definitely has promise to be worked on and polished into something that a lot of people would really enjoy playing! For a game done in a *week*, the polish here is bonkers and overall, it's a really solid experience! The save system is a really really nice touch too, I'll definitely be exploring the depths for more ingredients ^^
*Random bug I spotted, you can cheese certain items if you have multiple of a same 'type' for a slot, which can let you infinitely +1 items by clicking on another item in your inventory (tbh, it's not even really a problem, the gameplay is fun enough that cheesing it like this is deincentivised).
Thank you so much! If you're interested in continuing, there are only 11 floors as of now. I tried replicating the bug you mentioned but couldn't seem to get it working and I think it might be a visual bug, but thanks for bringing it to my attention! Really glad you enjoyed the game. :)
Wow. its very polished. it has really nice mood/atmosphere. I would have liked to be able to re-read the instructions I forgot the controls
Thanks, you can actually reopen it by pressing 'g' again but I guess I forgot to put how to open the instructions in the instructions.
This game is awesome! Looks great, really cool concept. The only thing that I want now is some actual takoyaki.
Thanks! Can't say that I wasn't craving takoyaki while coming up with ideas, as a matter of fact, I'm actually craving some right now.
