  • The depth of this game exceeds that traveled by the Nautilus, wow there was a lot of thought put into the game mechanics and how the game plays out. There is so much replayability and mastery that comes with this game. The soundtrack fits the aesthetic well and I love the modeling of the board and its movements. The UI could have been a bit more cohesive and clean but still an amazing job! --- It's really impressive how complex this game is! I don't know much about board games but making this type of game balanced seems very difficult, and you did a great job. I did feel like this game could have benefited from an actual in-game tutorial; even though there were pretty detailed instructions in the game page + there was that text in the "tutorial" button, I still found myself pretty confused while playing. Definitely a steep learning curve here! --- 34/40

This game was fascinating, I wish the tutorial explained a little more. Maybe my version was bugged, but I think this was a really neat concept. Reminds me of the game from Eragon I think? Lots of potential here, and felt like I was playing a game from the past uncovered, trying to find its rules. That could also be a neat way to use this. Super weird, very cool game!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and that does sound like a great concept for a game. If you played on the WebGL version, the tutorial video doesn't display (hence the recommendation at the top of the page). The full tutorial is visible in the Windows download as well as in both text and video format on the game's main page.

really clean animations/graphics and gameplay. My only critique is that I wish the tutorial moved on to the next rule when the user clicks or presses space bar instead of moving automatically (I’m a slow reader lol). Otherwise super slick and I would love to see a multiplayer and AI version!

Thanks for the feedback. We'll make sure to keep it in mind if we ever update the game. If you're looking for a slower/more controllable tutorial, the game's main page has both a text and video version of it.

This is a fascinating idea for a board game, playing against myself is pretty fun! The sound design and music are also fantastic. I'd love to play a physical version with my friends irl :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Throughout the whole process of building this game, I was thinking how cool it could be to actually build a physical version. That would be quite the challenge but it can still be played physically using two separate grids and keeping track of raised and lowered spaces manually (which is how the rules were initially designed and playtested).

I realize this would probably drastically increase the price of an already expensive endeavor, but it'd be cool to have a two sided board that flips like the one in the game. Maybe if the pieces were magnetized to the board so they didnt fall off while upside down? Then the board could be elevated enough to rotate on one axis to flip. Would definitely be a very unique board haha

I would love to make that. Maybe sometime I'll have the resources to do so

Woah! I love how it looks, I love how the board ripples when you invert the board, I like the concept of thinking in a third dimension. But I am very confused about how the game is played. What is the objective? What do pieces do? Does it mean anything when the pieces sink into the board?

I really think this looks cool, but I'm very confused on how to play it!

Hi! This is Teddy, the games artist and animator. It is a 2 player board game, similar to chess. When the camera rotates around the board, it indicates that it is the other players turn. Watch the included tutorial video for more in depth instructions. The video doesn't work in the web GL version, so I recommend either downloading the game or watching the YouTube upload of the tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V0TKU1WJwU
