  • Holy smokes (pun intended) the stills were beautifully made. I love the story as a spin on our theme and the art accompaniying it was amazing (<3 our ghostly friend). The concept is also very clever, putting a neat spin on the traditional top down shooter. I loved messing around with the mechanics in this game and seeing what I could do; really great job capturing that sense of wonder in the player. My main complaint was I wanted to play more! I think creating more levels instead of making one big floorplan would have created a sense of progression that was lacking. I thought the saloon was a great size so a few levels (saloon, outside, desert, bar, etc) would have helped. Even with that, I had an absolute blast (haha) ghost town gunnin'. --- This game was so fun! I love the mechanic of teleporting with your shots. The splash screens were incredible, I thought the aesthetic was super unique and memorable, and cutscenes made me smile. I just wish there was more to do in the game besides get a high score! --- 34/40

Super awesome concept, I love the control scheme and the rhythm it invokes. Good job! Fun visuals and fun gameplay!

Super fun and polished game! The art, music, and game concepts are all amazing! You definitely made that movement mechanics a feature >:) Other than what has already been mentioned by other comments, a QOL suggestion for the future i have would be having a volume setting and maybe a way to quit the game from within (maybe I didnt see it haha) I look forward to its future development :3

That was so much fun! The art style is fantastic, I loved the opening art stills, the transitions, and all the polish put into the core gameplay's effects. The gameplay just felt so cool to play and the simple mechanics made it obvious and natural-feeling right from the start for me. One piece of feedback is that I guess I initially had some difficulty at first knowing where to aim on their bodies for my hits to land and maybe some extra juice could be added to make it clear when you landed a hit. Overall though, the game had a wonderful presentation and honestly just made me smile to play.

Fantastic game with a really addictive and fun gameplay loop, music and art were also great. 2 minor issues were that like ForteFortissimo I got launched out of the map when the bullet bounced off one of the tables, also i noticed in the tutorial slides it mentioned a timer but i didn't see one (guessing this was left in by accident from a previous version or I've made a mistake). Both of those issues were really minor and didn't make the game any less fun though, great work!

This game is without a doubt my favorite game so far! There are a couple of bugs but an imperfect polish is something that is far from required, or expected, in a game jam. The concept is great, and the music does an excellent job at complimenting the gameplay which handles very smoothly.

After playing for a little bit, here are my thoughts:

  • Woah. I love the presentation of this game. The writing of the intro and death messages was fun, and was tonally consistent with the music, gameplay, and character design. The visual effects are punchy and didn't make my computer chug too much haha. Cream of the crop for consistent presentation!
  • However, I did encounter a few issues during gameplay. One time, I shot in the starting building and the bullet launched diagonally up when it bounced off a table on the top left. I was teleported outside of the map, couldn't get back in, and couldn't find a way to restart in-game... so I had to close the window and reopen! Another issue I encountered (not exactly sure what caused it) was the camera getting locked inside of the starting building. I think it may have had to do with how the camera follows the bullet, and the bullet went somewhere without giving camera control back.
  • The main mechanic was super intriguing and I would definitely play a full version of a game that expands on the mechanic and level design presented here. One suggestion involves enemy health - I noticed some enemies took two hits while others took one, and assumed that every enemy had two health but by ricocheting the bullet right next to where they were standing, it collided twice, letting me K.O. faster - I thought this was an intentional design and felt it was really cool! Like a strategic element, almost. But it actually wasn't  a mechanic and it seems like it was just an inconsistency? I'd love it if this were more intentional, it has so much potential for environment interaction (by that I mean encouraging players to ricochet bullets rather than just point and shoot)
  • The music was really good but also really loud compared to the sounds that came before the gameplay loop? This could be fixed with a small settings menu :)

I really really like this idea, it feels like a prototype for something that could easily be much bigger.

Hey , its great to see you love the design and aestethic.Yes , its intended that some enemies take two shots to kill so all the cool rebound kills are more probable , and also we wanted to add diferent types of enemies but time constraints led us to the two enemies you see in the game. Thanks for your feedback, well surely make improvements and see if this game goes anywhere else :D

The is probably my favorite game from this Jam so far. It's extremely stylish (my favorite small detail is the cool screen transition effect). It's also really fun and challenging. The main mechanic was really nice. The only critism I can give is that I think the game could be far better with more enemy types, and I did have a few instances of enemies spawning in walls.

Hey thanks for playing! We too noticed they can spawn in walls but usually you can still shoot them but its a bit silly jaja, Glad you enjoyed it still

I love the mechanics and the visual around it!! The bullet time effect makes me cry.

I'm a little bit confused on what the objective is, but I'm perfectly happy to just shooting myself around and killing the skeletons until my greed kills me. On that, I also would love to see some juicy vfx when you kill the skeletons. The audio is perfectly timed with the gameplay and the experience is awesome! A super tight game overall and very expandable!!

    Great job!!

We too like the bullet time xd. And also its true the purpose is unclear , youre supposed to survive and get a high score but well work on it. Glad you enjoyed it

Really visually stunning and unique mechanics! The only things I have to critique are the controls and a bug I encountered. I noticed you teleport when you are clicking the teleport button *and* when you are clicking the shoot button. I think it'd be better to keep teleporting to  one button only (and possibly move it the keyboard instead of left click just to separate those commands a bit). This would make it so that you can teleport then continuously shoot from one location without having to move. I feel like this would speed up gameplay and give you the freedom to make enemies more dangerous/quick since you can shoot multiple times from one spot.

I also managed to glitch through the wall of the first room and outside of the cactus-enclosed map which caused the timer and enemies to disappear - granting me the potential for an unlimited score >:). As a result I was permanently stuck and had to manually shut down the game.

Otherwise I think it looks super clean and professional and I could 100% see this as a mobile or pc game. Nicely done!

Holy cow this game is good! It's so snazzy and fun!

I really enjoy the main mechanic, and I especially enjoy all the effects added to make it feel satisfying! The slow down, the zoom in/warp that happens when you teleport, and then the ghost effect + slide after it??? Insanely fun.

I really like the ricochets and the shots where you hit multiple skeletons with one bullet. I think there should be something to reward those moments - like a combo meter that goes up the more skeletons you hit with one shot or something. The saloon's design is perfect.

I think it's a little less satisfying because sometimes your bullets don't instantly kill. I think if you made every skeleton a one-hit, that would really add to the satisfaction. Plus, then you can remove the floating red bars over their heads. Maybe you could add a new enemy type that takes more hits to kill, like a skeleton bull that charges at you, forcing you to use your shot to dodge.

Once or twice a skeleton spawned in a wall, but I was always able to still shoot them.

Also that intro cinematic was really nice. It really added to the experience. And the music had me boppin'.

But wow. I really loved this. My only real complaint is that I want more! Great job!

Thank you so much for taking the time to both play the game and write out your thoughts! I appreciate it very much, and after staring at this thing for a week, your criticisms have really gotten me excited about the game again.

Hard agree on the combo meter. That’s a day one addition for a potential post-jam version. I think your one-hit kill idea is awesome too–it fully converts the enemies into targets rather than actual entities. To me, that alteration accurately observes that the game in its current state is too beholden to top-down-shooter genre conventions. Definitely a lot to think about. Thank you again for your thoughtful commentary!

This game is so well made!! I love it, the shooting and teleporting is so satisfying. Those little details, the subtle chromatic aberration, the lens distortion and the particle effects makes the game so juicy and fun to play. It needs some polishing though, there are a few bugs and the enemy death feedback could be a lot more rewarding. The game mechanics have no restrictions, you can spam the attacks without consequences. But in overall it has a lot of potential. I would love to see an improved version on Steam someday. Heck, I would like to jump on your team if I could. I love it!
