- Really cohesive art style and I'm interested to see where the story goes! As some other comments wrote, the control scheme seems a bit complex for the amount of actions you can actually take in the game! --- 26/40

This is a really cute game, and I can't wait to see what the next stages would be like. You could say... it makes me hungry for more!
Besides the controls being more restricted as others have mentioned, I would say maybe distinguish between what can and cannot be interactable? I saw the fruit on the table, and thought i could interact and eat it. Other than that, its quite an enjoyable game :D
Thanks for playing my man! Yeah, the "visual feedback" on what things are interactable is a great idea! And it shouldn't be too hard to implement, thank you so much for the suggestion :)
Also, I simply loved your game, it's sooooooooooooooooooo cuteeeeee, you guys did a very good job! Just one thing, did you try exporting it to be played on the web? Was the performance not good enough? Cause it would be really nice to be able to play it without needing to download anything.
Again, thanks for playing and congrats for finishing the jam with a very nice game!
Congrats to you too! I'm glad you played my game as well :3
I did actually try to export it to the web, but the canvas scaling for certain screens in the game was off (there was a margin at the top/bottom of the cutscene). Since it was towards the end of the jam, and we did most of our testing on the Windows version (and I had no previous exp with webgl), I didn't want to risk having a buggy browser version :( But we will definitely upload a browser version once the judging is over! 😊
I like the art, and the music has a very catchy rhythm to it, I wish there was more to do than just the first puzzle, but its a great game, good work
Thank you so much for playing! Yeah man, I super wish that we could have done more stuff too, but stay tuned, lots of content on the way.
Can't wait :)
The art and sounds are very charming! I'm interested to see where the story and everything goes. Don't worry too much about not having the second part in yet though, it happens to us all!
I will say it might be best to try and reduce the amount of keys/controls you need to use for each action. On the tutorial screen, it shows only E and arrow keys, but then you end up using Space as well as even the mouse to select the options. I think compressing E and Space into a single "interact" button would go a long way, and maybe finding a way to select menu options with arrow keys and E instead of mouse as well! Otherwise, nice job!
That makes a lot of sense Carsen! Those are both nice UX improvements, I'll be sure to try and implement them. Thank you so much!
I really like the art style of the game! I can see what you're going with the story I think (I keep getting stuck in the ice cream store, I walk up to the lady clicking e everywhere but nothing happens) a little recounting of memories of the grandpa, it looks like a sweet story. Great work! Keep it up!
Thanks for trying it out man! Unfortunately I couldn't manage to implement the dialog for the second part, which would be the coolest part of everything T.T
BUT, we'll try to make it better once the game jam ends, so give us a follow to be notified of that!
Also, I'll be sure to play your submission and give it a review, gotta say it also looks very sweet and heartfelt!
