If I wanted to have a secondary temporary camera that can be deployed somewhere, would it also have to be on a grid? It would be static if that helps. And this is just a random idea I might not end up using it in the jam
I can't answer that until know what you would use the secondary camera for. If it's for a cutscene or special event that will happen sometime then that's fine but if the secondary camera is something than can be activated at will, effectively making it a 3rd person game, then that's not allowed.
NPC's and enemies also have to be on a grid but you can offset them within a grid cell. They must have movement locked to a grid.
I can think of 2 situations I'd would like to know:
1. Cutscene player has no gameplay interaction but there might be story related interactioins, like answering a dialog with multiple options.
2. If the player had a drone they could send out and remotely control. Technically the camera and controls would be of the drone while it is deployed but the drone could be able to see the avatar of the player
