How to demo video?

Hey, I see some folks posting little videos of their games. Do you all have a preferred way to capture that? Software recommendations?  Tips? Obviously screenshots are easy but I've never really had a reason to grab videos before, I'd love to know where to start.

If you’re on Windows 10, you can use the XBox Bar:

  1. Press Win+G to call it.
  2. Press the Record button (full circle).
  3. Click on your game’s window; the recording will start.
  4. When done, either close the game’s window or press Stop recording.
  5. You should now have a.mp4 file. You can use it as is, or find an online converter to gif.

I use OBS, it's actually meant for streaming and such. But it has a neat recording feature

If you need to capture a short segment of gameplay, I'd suggest making gifs with ScreenToGif - it is pretty lightweight and easy to use.
