Enjoyed the reveal of the robot - heralded by lamplight!
Might be interesting to test if it's more tense to not have it appear straight away? After we see the empty plinth we know it could be anywhere, so any unexpected sound / action in the world could be dangerous.
It's not that the footsteps sound is bad or anything, it's that this is typically the sound my system would do if there was an issue with my sound installation (hardware or software), making it very innerving but not for the good reasons (as it takes you out of the experience).
I join what most people said already about the story and bugs, not knowing what you are supposed to do and if some things are intended or not give this game a very hazy feeling that keeps you from feeling truly invested.
It has potential to be a 5-5, but not in this state.
For what it's worth, the Footstep Sfx were made when I thought the game was going to be more blocky and not as 3D as it ended up being. I didn't actually see much of the graphical style and remember seeing a lot of N64 era stuff in our convo and sort of thought that was how the game would ultimately look.
The gameplay isn't bad, but I wish a lot of the things were better communicated to the player. What's the story like? Why are we in the place? What am I to do with the magnet after I pick it up (figured that out during game, but it would still be nice to get like a prompt or something).
As Cademon said, the footstep sounds are annoying, they pop in your ear too much, as if you had broken earphones or something.
The alien /robot bugs out often and has trouble walking through gates, though I really enjoy the detail of lights turning on when it's near one.
I also noticed that you seemed to have shipped a debug version of the game. The print labels are visible, as well as the raycast you seem to be using for the magnet.
oh crap I forgot to turn those off
The atmosphere was nice, but I didn't understand the story and the footstep noise got on my nerves lol.
Damn people really don't like the Footstep noise. I think it's the panning, it's kind of really back and fourth between Left and Right
