Not bad, not bad! Though given the scarcity of ammo, my playthroughs largely felt like a game of "survive until the green ghost decides it's time for you to die."
I like the current blend of procedural generation. There's an even mix of confusing hallways and rooms to loot, and even though escape is impossible it still feels like there's a purpose to exploration. I like that there's some variety to the ghostly behaviors, too, like ones that get mad if you turn the lights on for too long.
Also suffered the framerate drop issue, but that was easily rectified by turning the graphics settings way down. (For some reason the graphics preset lists don't seem to change anything? So if anyone reading this is confused about how to fix the issue - make sure you manually change the boxes at the bottom.) Other than that, a nice lil exploratory time.
I like the idea. The audio is good and scary. The rooms are interesting. I also had issues with the frame rate lagging quite a bit when I moved from room to room. I couldn't figure out how to bring up the inventory when I was playing. The biggest issue is that the ghosts would spawn on top of me, instantly hurting me. I think that's the biggest complaint but this could be better upon iteration. Cool job.
Spooky! The ghosts have some really good effects on them.
I had some framerate issues with the graphics settings all turned down that I think were tied to the lighting because I they got worse when my flashlight was on. Wouldn't hold that agains you for a jam, but figured I'd mention it. I also hit a small bug where I was stuck in a forever loop of the camera animation that happens whe you take damage :P.
Thanks for playing.
Yeah, I forgot to turn the shadows of newly spawned light off, so the shadow settings only take effect on the ones that exist when you apply the settings.
Do you mind telling me what GPU you have?
No worries at all. I'm running a 1080Ti.
This was an interesting one! I enjoy survival features and needing to search for resources and such, and the game was quite atmospheric. I did encounter what I'm pretty sure was a bug - went to sleep, woke up and my character was reacting to damage forever, no matter what I did with hunger/sleep, so it made it impossible to continue without restarting unfortunately. Still, it's pretty cool and unusual!
Thanks for playing!
I'll investigate the bug.
Maybe a Shadow (the black smoke ghost) spawned on you, even though enemies shouldn't spawn near the player.
It's all good! I think the bug was something maybe to do with hunger, maybe? I'm pretty sure it wasn't an enemy, but basically the character was damage reacting continuously soon as they woke up (grunting noise, screen shake almost continuous). I could still walk around but it was kind of disorientating and... well, I died pretty soon after! At first I thought it was maybe because I was starving but I filled up all my gauges and it still kept happening.
Hope that helps!
