Good job. Like another one said here, you put a lot of effort into this. Variety of playable characters, mapping, sounds, anamations in battle.

BUT, it seems unbalanced in some parts. I didn’t to know how to cure the MP of the Priest, I used an ether but with no success (my Priest was the most important battler in that time)

GREAT job at all!

Developer(+1)

Aw crap, did I screw up the ether? Wouldn’t surprise me if it doesn’t work right since I (hastily) tried to make them refill MP, but not the other skill resources like rage or energy. Glad you liked it. :)

I'm going to play this again with a better party composition but you clearly put a lot of effort into this! Good job!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try, and yeah not all parties are created equal. Was going for that FF1 vibe in that regard.

An interesting idea, I would like to see it expanded. It is obvious though that time was a factor as EXP drops felt a little unbalanced. I got 4 EXP for defeating the boss? Almost no EXP for a long battle with a huge slime? All of that though I feel could be adjusted with more time, and would be interested to see where this goes.

Developer

Yeah I never had time to actually balance the exp drops. If I work on a post-jam version, I’ll probably get rid of exp entirely in favor of a very different growth system anyway.

Quite enjoyed both the combat and comedic writing. There was a good variety of playable characters and abilities, though I don't think as much of this width was necessary for such a short game (I mostly just stuck with one party setup and never bought new equipment).

Developer

They were going to learn those skills as they progressed so it’d feel more natural, but I was out of time for that so I just lumped everything in at the start.
